LOS ANGELES -- California’s governor announced Friday that he won’t ask the state Supreme Court to block parole for Charles Manson follower Leslie Van Houten, paving the way for her release after serving 53 years in prison for two infamous murders.

In a brief statement, the governor’s office said it was unlikely that the state's high court would consider an appeal of a lower court ruling that Van Houten should be released.

““She’s been in prison for 53 years. ... She just needs to learn how to use an ATM machine, let alone a cell phone, let alone a computer,” her attorney said.”

If her attorney feels so strongly about it, then he should welcome her to live in his home while teaching her all those things.

She just needs to learn how to use an ATM machine, let alone a cell phone, let alone a computer,

That would be just a living hell for her. Know who else never used a cell phone, a computer or an ATM? Sharon Tate, and the LaBiancas...

Lemme see. She murdered a woman in cold blood and was sentenced to death. But the death penalty was determined to be unconstitutional and so she was sentenced to life in prison.

Given the above, what fool could possibly think this person deserves parole? What, they need to make room in prison for somebody who offends some tranny fag with using the wrong pronoun?

Most don't realize she traveled with the Hollywood elites before she went with Manson.....you can bet she'll be right back with them in no time.

If you listen to her, she sounds remorseful and sympathetic, I could care less, looks like she will get a 2nd chance on life, the Labiancas get nothing but rolling over in their graves.

The shame of it all is she will get tons of offers for her story, she should be able to make one dime off her stories of murdering innocent people.

Life in prison means nothing after this.

Maybe they can make a sequel to Once Upon a Time in Hollywood. This time starring Brad Pitt, Leonardo DiCaprio and Leslie Van Houten.

I was so mad I mistyped and should have said, Leslie Van Houten should NOT make one dime off of her stories, any money coming her way should be forfeited to some charitable organization to aid victims.

You know, I bet Quentin Tarantino and so many others in Hollywood have ears perked up at this whole thing.

Gee the Titanic in the news again and now the Manson Family.

They say fashion repeats itself. Maybe I should start wearing bell bottoms again?

You’re so right. They never got the chance to enjoy the “privileges” of today’s world.

Her first conviction was over turned in the late 70’s i believe...she was out for awhile, got re tried and was convicted again. Her lawyers claimed the stab wounds she inflicted on Rose Mary Labianca were all “post mortem”. Like that makes any difference. Then again, they have released others that have done far worse. She did dodge the gas chamber in 1976....I say let her rot and die where shes at...

If Van Houten is paroled, does that make her immediately eligible for Medicaid, Food Stamps, SSI monthly check, senior citizen bus pass, and a rent subsidy?

Maybe she can share an apartment with Squeaky Fromme?

I hate the legacy media SO MUCH! They tarnish the word and concept of “freeedom” regularly. Here, they make it sound like a good thing a person (this creep) will get freedom. Of course, her being released back into society is a BAD thing in multiple ways.

Elsewhere, they eschew the word “freedom.” They don’t approve of the freedom to post on Twitter without censorship. Likewise, “No!” to the exercise of 2nd Amendment freedoms. And, “No!” to the freedom to avoid compelled speech and cake baking. On, and on.

I hate them.

I’m sure her lawyers were trying to plant the seed of ‘reasonable doubt’ in at least one juror’s mind. But, in fact, it would make a big difference if she ‘merely’ stabbed a corpse. The assassination of Julius Caesar and Murder on the Orient Express come to mind.

I hope someone knocks her off as soon as she walks outside the prison gates.

Right. Her baby was also a victim of the Manson bunch.
