Should elected local school boards decide what kind of education the children of their district should get, or should Gavin Newsom?
Newsom, as he always does, says 'me.'
Here is his latest strongarm of Temecula Valley Unified School District, as described by Yahoo! News:
Days after Gov. Gavin Newsom threatened to fine a Southern California school district $1.5 million over its rejection of a state-approved social studies curriculum, the school board unanimously voted to adopt a compromise version of the curriculum on Friday.
The Temecula Valley Unified School Board held an emergency meeting to adopt the elementary curriculum, though it will pull one fourth grade unit that discusses the gay rights movement for further review, the Los Angeles Times reported.
In May, the school board voted 3-2 to reject the elementary social studies curriculum that mentions gay rights activist Harvey Milk, and did so again last week. School board President Joseph Komrosky referred to California’s first openly gay elected official as a “pedophile” and questioned why he would be featured, calling it “morally reprehensible,” The Bee reported.
So much for parental rights -- and local control.
This was a naked, political muscling with draconian consequences employed in contradiction to the decision of the community, led by its locally elected leaders, to not teach sex to children under the age of 11. Newsom not only threatened the district with $1.5 million fine if they didn't play ball with his pre-chosen textbook contractor and its wokester curriculum, which featured a section on the greatness of gay elected leader Harvey Milk, who also had a record of sexual coercion and pedophilia, Newsom also used menacing language in his statement about it, and implied that a "civil rights investigation" he had launched against them would have a rigged, preordained result.

For those who are unfamiliar.... Temecula is a conservative little city of 110,000 just north of San Diego in the southwestern corner of Riverside County.
If you make trips between San Diego and Los Angeles, Temecula is the perfect little stopover, a cutesy cowboy-Western town full of nice cafes, American flags, street posters featuring military veterans, decent Mexican food, and regalia related to its status as an avocado-growing and honey-producing center as well as the capital of Southern California’s wine country. It’s always a great place to visit.
But look at Newsom’s langauge when he referred to the Temicula community:

He’s ONLY going after this particular school district because the area is one of the few in this state that are Conservative..he wouldn’t bother if this were lets say Culver City, but since its a Conservative area he thinks being a prick will give him street cred since he’s running for President..Harvey Milk was a pedophile, he had sex with CHILDREN, period..that makes him a pedo, period

This was not a run of the mill “we’ll cut your funding” threat to the Temecula School District. It was a first step fine of $1.5 million with the threat of additional personal criminal prosecution of School Board members by the state Attorney General for hate crimes. So when it comes to school curriculum plocal school districts are merely rubber stamp and foot soldiers for the LGBTQ crowd. Bookmark this incident for when Newsome runs for President.

For those California parents who save to send their children to private schools in order to escape the woke and rotten public schools, how are you going to escape this California government encroachment into your school when ( not IF, but WHEN) Newsom and his AG comes after you?
TEMECULA USED to be all ranches.
And even though you’ve saved to send your kids to private or charter schools you still have to pay for public schools on your property taxes! Even worse, when will they insist, monitor and test your kids for LGBTQ knowledge even if you homeschool them? It really gets real then!!
As long as words still have a meaning, the answer is no. Ephebophilia would be the term here.
Pedos are attracted to prepubescent children, 16 is not that. (Half the women in history were married by that age.) But I'm guessing it wasn't a female either because of the perv he was.

I’m really disappointed in Temecula, I thought they would put up a legal fight. Murrieta caved too.
