Nikki Haley says Trump ‘can’t win a general election’ — but would still back him
The New York Post ^ | 07/24/2023 | Ryan King

Posted on 07/24/2023 2:32:13 PM PDT by thegagline

Republican presidential contender Nikki Haley said Monday that frontrunner candidate and former boss Donald Trump will never win the 2024 general election.

“We can’t have, as Republicans, him as the nominee. He can’t win a general election. That’s the problem. We’ve got to go and have someone who can actually win,” Haley told CNBC’s “Squawk Box.”

But she said she will ultimately back Trump if he becomes the GOP standard bearer, despite her concerns about his chance at success.

“I would support him because I am not going to have a President Kamala Harris,” said Haley, 51, referring to the vice president, who is next in line to the White House should something happen to 80-year-old President Biden.

“We can’t afford that,” said Haley, the US ambassador to the UN under ex-President Trump. “That is not going to happen.”

Trump, 77, has a yawning 33.3 point lead over the 2024 GOP field, while Haley is in a distant fifth place in the latest RealClearPolitics average of polls.

Haley insists it’s still very early.

“This is a marathon, it’s not a sprint,” she said Monday. “We’re just getting started. This will really start to shake up post-Labor Day,” she said.

The former South Carolina governor also highlighted Trump’s mounting legal predicaments when discussing the weakness of his candidacy.

“There’s probably going to be a fourth indictment,” she speculated.***

"The powers that be behind the curtain already know who the next president is. Your vote, or mine really doesn’t matter in my opinion anymore."

You're exactly right. They've already got their little election-stealing enterprise all set up and ready for 2024. I live in NY State, so in essence, it doesn't matter who I vote for, for Governor, U.S. Senator or President, because no Republican candidate for those offices will ever win in this State again.

Sorry but that is what you believe? Nobody will crush a Dem candidate for President due to ballot fraud and machines changing votes.

They could do to Trump what Democrats did to Bernie Sanders

When all the establishment/moderate D’s dropped out and endorsed Biden after he did well in South Carolina, to prevent a crowded field and block Bernie who they thought couldn’t beat Trump

I don’t know but several here said they would vote D over DeSantis.

Prove it or you are a liar!

See post 16 this thread. Throwing away a vote is as good as voting for a democrat.

I'll never understand the one track mind of you only Trumpers.

“Haley said she’d back Trump if he was the Republican nominee. If someone other than Trump was the GOP nominee, I wonder if Trump would back them.”

Likely depends on how much the GOP rigs the Primary against Trump, as they help the Democrats do in the 2020 General Election.

And if it were Haley v Biden, she’d crush Biden.

Nope. Not with the average FReeper who hasn't got a clue. Haley's not a NBC, dontcha know

The average only Trumper would never vote for Haley even if she won the nomination. They would write in Trump.

Thereby giving Biden the win. (Yes they really are that stupid)

"I'll never understand the one track mind of you only Trumpers."

I'll never understand why some folks on FR feel they have to tell people how to live their lives like the liberals do. I'll be lucky if I'm alive in 2024 to vote for Trump for a third time, so please spare me your horse manure judgement crap.

____________

Actually President Trump is the only one who can overcome the vote fraud, that is unless they come up with some new emergency.

Anybody that would write in or even vote third party NEEDS to be told what to do. Yes, McCain and Romney were bad choices. But they were a damn site better than Obama and Biden.

So, no proof that anyone has said that on FreeRepublic.

Got it!

People who would vote for Biden or Harris over the most conservative governor in the nation are obviously not conservative. They may support Trump, but it's not because of his policies. They are cultists.

Boy is she wrong!

Between Bragg, Smith, Fani and others I've forgotten - there has already already been four indictments.

I can easily see 10-15 more indictments to come. The more the merrier. I call this "Death by a Thousand Cuts".

"Anybody that would write in or even vote third party NEEDS to be told what to do."

You can hold your nose and vote for whoever you want. As a natural -born American citizen, I don't have to vote for anyone I believe isn't worthy of the job. I'd rather not vote at all for someone unworthy, than vote for them, knowing they will only stab the country, and me in the back down the road. The reason the GOP will never be reformed is that people are still willing to vote for bad candidates just to keep the seat Republican. All they are doing is perpetuating a bad system.
