Christie put the icing on the cake for Obama and then ate it.

Yeah I don’t think Christie had much to do with romney’s defeat in 2012.

"Romney did that on his own.....anyone that watched the dynamic between his 1st debate with obama and the rest knows that.....it was unbelievably obvious he was throwing the game."

No, that was the 2nd presidential debate, courtesy of Candey "Feeder" Crowley. Had the election been held after the 1st debate, Bishop Dullard would have won. This is one of the many polls that captured that moment.

"The latest Monmouth University Poll of voters nationwide shows Mitt Romney holding on to a three point lead over Barack Obama in next month’s presidential race. The GOP challenger continued to make gains in every issue area after the second debate. Currently, Gov. Romney leads the incumbent by 48% to 45% among likely American voters...The latest Monmouth University Poll was conducted by telephone with 1,402 likely voters in the United States from October 18 to 21, 2012. This sample has a margin of error of + 2.6 percent.

Romney may be the only living man to truly embarrass a sitting President --- and LOSE.

In the first debate, he revealed the Mau Mau Emperor had no clothes. And looking back in hindsight, what I said then is absolutely true today: Nothing would ever be the same for Bobo again ... he was the lamest lame duck since Wilson.

Just two weeks later, Romney really drove the blade home at the Alfred E. Smith Dinner, with Mitt (literally) channeling Dennis Miller -- "so little time,
so much to redistribute" --
and for the briefest of moments Romney pulled off the double-down from the curb-stomping he gave Bobo in the 1st debate, by appearing resoundingly presidential, while simultaneously making Bobo look small. Like Curious George small. Just take a look at that picture. Bobo looks exactly like the down-low gofer who should indeed be 'fetching Bill Clinton his coffee'...

But of course, as enjoyable as it was obvious, Romney was completely oblivious to the fact that his success in shaming Barack in those two precious weeks in October 2012 merely reinforced his "47%" unelectability, as proven in the month to come...

This is no defense of Romney. He’s a corrupt globalists. But I still think he won in 2012 and had it stolen from him, or at least in Florida. I live in Florida and can tell you that at least in my area, there were Romney yard signs all over the place with few Obama ones - unless you went into poorer neighborhoods.

Granted that I live in an area that trends Republican but, at least using yard signs and bumper stickers as an indicator, it was even more lopsided in Romney’s favor than it was for Trump in 2020, and probably even 2016.

That was the year Gingrich had a brief surge after hitting back at the lib moderator in one of the debates. At the time, he was the only Republican who had ever had the guts to do something like that, and grassroots conservatives loved him for it. Looking back on it now, it was pretty tame in comparison to Trump, and I have no illusions that Gingrich would have ended up governing as a true anti-establishment president. Gingrich is schizophrenic. In one sentence he’s calling out the establishment and in the next, he’s praising Tim Scott as the future of the GOP. But it was a nice moment.

I refused to vote for Romney in 2012 and have zero regrets. I believe he would have been worse than Obama.

I voted for him, but looking back I agree with your assessment.

Mittens threw it. He could have curb-stomped Fatass Candey in the 2nd Debate and gone on a Trump-like scorched-earth diatribe, knowing he had actually taken the lead after the 1st Debate, and instead he threw the election, exactly like McCain threw 2008.

It is a God-blessed miracle that President Trump had 3 SCOTUS picks who promptly overturn Roe, when viewed in the factual light of the GOPe throwing two presidential elections in the New Century for literal fear of being tarnished as "racists" for having Zulu'd Obama.

Instead two things happened as a result -- Obama's Army, funded by Soros, who promptly stole control back in 2020; and the PLA were emboldened to take our money, US dollars, and create metropolis after metropolis overnight, while also building out their military; and meanwhile shitholes like Scranton -- the birthplace of Bidendropov -- suffer under both the ridiculous, reckless giveaway of capitalism to communism, and communism returning the favor by flooding Scranton with fentanyl.

Was Romney being weak kneed with his lame response to Crowley or deliberately trying to throw it? Hard to say. But one thing’s clear. It would have been business as usual if he had won. Same with McCain. They were both running at the pleasure of the deep state. They were the deep state’s insurance policy in case Obama, for some reason, wasn’t able to win, and they both knew it.

For one, I don't think Romney cares if he lost the White House. Secondly, Romney did plenty to lose the White House by himself.
