In the last years he had a young man help him to his seat in his wheelchair and indicate the votes were in progress. Then Dingell, whose head was slumped forward near his knees, would tell the aide to indicate the vote yea or nay.
P.S. He was a staunch and genuine supporter of gun owner rights and held off a lot of anti-gun meddling for decades.
