Former President Donald Trump is encouraging his challengers to debate to see whom he “might” consider for his vice president, he teased on Truth Social on Monday.
“Let them debate so I can see who I MIGHT consider for Vice President!” Trump exclaimed in the post, which comes as speculation rises on whether or not Trump will participate in the first Republican primary debate, taking place August 23 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin:
Reportedly, seven candidates have qualified for the first debate thus far: Trump, Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, former South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley, anti-woke businessman Vivek Ramaswamy, former New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie, South Carolina Sen. Tim Scott, and North Dakota Gov. Doug Burgum, the last of whom offered $20 gift cards to those who donated $1 to his presidential campaign to help meet the Republican National Committee’s (RNC) donor threshold. However, it remains unclear if Trump will participate, expressing concerns about doing so even back in April.

I’ve been critical of Trump but I can see the reasons why someone would support him, and if you go to my old posts I supported him strongly in 2016 and 2020 - but the fact that many do not want to see him participate in debates is worrisome. My one and only concern is who has the best chance to beat Biden. Stuff like this might do a better job at “making libs heads explode” or whatever, but they’re heads are exploding anyway. I just want to beat them.
That’s pretty magnanimous considering how easily he could disrupt it.
Trump should schedule a sit-down LIVE with Tucker during the debate, where he could interject his feedback to the various responses.
It would likely have a larger audience than the debate.
DJT is not going to pick any of his challengers for the nomination to be VP.
He’s too wise for that.

At one time I would have favored Desantis, but if he’s teaming up with Kemp, forget him.
None of the other candidates have caught my eye. But Trump does need a real MEGA team that will support him rather than stab him in the back. No more Pence, Barr, Christie, ,,,,, types should not be anywhere near the whitehouse.

Same here. I consider our competition to be not Biden but the collection of liberal causes and whoever candidate eventually represents them.
Neither Vivek nor Haley is QUALIFIED TO BE PRESIDENT.
NEITHER ONE IS NATURAL BORN CITIZEN
Debates in 2016 and 4 years of Trump tell me everything I need to know about the man. He does NOT have any need whatsoever to debate, and I hope he doesn't. In fact, I hope he organizes another rally or maybe town hall for the very same night. There's decent people in the lineup. Let them debate and show us what they are made of. No need whatsoever for Trump to be involved. We already know who he was, what he wants to do.
In my opinion, all the “also ran” Republican candidates are there for one of three reasons.
1. On a personal or paid vendetta to damage Trump.
2. Not serious and just enjoy the attention and spending donations.
3. Auditioning for VP.
Trump should announce that he wants to debate Biden, tomorrow. Biden can’t debate, he can’t even read anymore.
Time will tell.
