Yawn. An old rehash.

There could be more to it, but the clip of him “swimming” was in a lap pool, with flippers on his feet and the rest of his body barely moving, while an instructor was positioned nearby.

The poor guy even had a “#progress!” on the clip when he posted it.

That tells you he was an adult who couldn’t swim well enough to get himself out of trouble.

There is a world of difference between swimming with flipper and without flippers.

If he was that bad a swimmer, going out on a paddle board at night without a personal flotation device shows a Darwininan lack of judgement. Then again, perhaps, as a woman was involved, some sort of sexual tension might have overridden any judgement.

We all would love IF there was MORE to this story, BUT the fact is many drunk/drugged people die all the time in and around the water in the summer.

Even people who are excellent swimmers drown sometimes within a few feet of the shore. This happened to one of my father in laws best friends in Camden Harbor, ME on an August night.
They all were experienced sailors who knew how to swim. The three of them went out to the bar. Two went back to the boat. One decided to stay for one more drink. They found him floating in the harbor the next morning 15’ from shore. He had a bruise on his head. They figured he slipped getting into the dingy. He was 52 years old.
