AOC, ‘squad’ spent $1.2M in campaign cash on private security despite calls to defund the police

Socialist Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and her eight-comrade “squad” of anti-cop lawmakers have shelled out more than $1.2 million in campaign funds on private security since taking office, records show.

Leading the way is Cori Bush (D-Missouri), who has reported spending more than $730,000 on private security – including $75,000 she funneled to her own husband – and Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY), whose $272,000-plus tab includes security upgrades at her district offices.

Bush’s campaign spending on security predates her 2021 arrival in the House of Representatives.

Since she first ran for Congress in 2019, she’s paid $736,748 for security services.

Among the benefactors of her donor’s largesse was St. Louis-based Peace Security, a pro-gun, right-wing private security firm that racked up $380,947 despite reportedly promoting the Second Amendment — in sharp contrast to Democratic socialist Bush’s anti-gun campaign messaging. Her campaign also paid military veteran Cortney Merrits, who Bush married in February, $75,000 to providing private security work for the congresswoman.

Bush was slapped with a Federal Election Commission complaint in March after it was revealed her campaign paid her now-husband to provide security — even though he didn’t have the required license.

Bush began making payments to her longtime lover less than two weeks before her unoccupied vehicle was shot at in St, Louis in January 2022, the Washington Free Beacon reported. *** AOC “SQUAD” SECURITY SPENDING

At first it looks like “I need protection and you don’t”. But they, like politicians on both sides of the aisle, often need special protection. If they were just everyday schleps, they wouldn’t be hiring security. It’s not really a class thing.

Dems are using the security issue to imply the domestic terrorist registered Republicans could harm them at any given moment.

The real threat includes a Dem who had a mission to murder the GOP leadership at the baseball game —

“On June 14, 2017, a mass shooting occurred during a practice session for the annual Congressional Baseball Game in Alexandria, Virginia, where six people were shot, including U.S. House Majority Whip, now U.S. House Majority Leader Steve Scalise, U.S. Capitol Police officer Crystal Griner, congressional aide Zack Barth, and lobbyist Matt Mika, by 66-year-old James Hodgkinson.
A ten-minute shootout took place between Hodgkinson and officers from the Capitol and Alexandria Police before officers shot Hodgkinson, who died from his wounds later that day at the George Washington University Hospital. Scalise and Mika were taken to nearby hospitals where they underwent surgery.

Hodgkinson was a left-wing activist with a record of domestic violence The Virginia Attorney General concluded Hodgkinson’s attack was “an act of terrorism ... fueled by rage against Republican legislators.”

He sure had a Pride flag load of medals, didn’t he. I wonder if his wife, “Suicide Sarah” is still driving demolition derby cars.

It would be a whole lot easier, and cheaper, if the bartender and other commie pals just bought a gun.

RE: Their safety is important. Yours isn’t.

Communists all along carefully make sure their elite leaders have safety and luxury while the “workers” they mention in all their slogans have nothing and are disposable.

Weird how the SCOTUS justices can’t get any security. Especially after Antonin Scalia was murdered. The RATS want his chair bad but most of all, they wanted him GONE.

and how many republican congresscritters are out there denouncing her and exposing her blatant hypocrisy? sadly we don’t have enough media on our side to get to the masses and tell them what’s going on- but every little bit will help especially with independents who might be persuaded that the left are pukes and hypocrites

Perfectly consistent if you ask me. The elite are entitled to the best security money can buy, while the rest of us peons have to just suck it up. All while the DA’s of their ilk allow predatory criminals to roam free and terrorize us with their no-cash bail policies.

And their idiot constituents either don’t know about this, or are ok with it. Just so long as they get to crow about the alleged moral high ground they occupy by supporting these Marxist grifters and their bullcrap grievance politics.

At first it looks like “I need protection and you don’t”

But that is true. These racist, Marxist, American hating pieces of chit do not want you to be able to protect yourself with your own weapon. They want to take away American’s weapons and abolish the 2a. Owning a weapon is the only choice for most Americans and quiet often even that is an expensive choice for them.

I suggest you grow a pair and attack these POS instead of making RINO-like milquetoast excuses for them.

All of these pukes are eliciting a tremendous amount of division and resentment that will divide us for many decades - at the least. This is their legacy. There’s not a country in the world which is a better place than the US to be a minority of any sort. Not one. But these vapid haters want to destroy it.

If conservatives didn’t have private security, then I’d say you have an argument. In reality, they’re saying even with personal protection, we deserve private security.

Nice to know you passed Limbaugh’s kook test with flying colors.

So why didn’t Scalia have private security?

What planet are you on? This isn’t about conservative or leftists having private security. It’s about hypocrisy of the squad spending millions on private security when they want to take away American’s guns.
