What proof is there that it’s due to “climate change”? None, as usual.

“...thanks to global climate change, the area experiences its worst drought in 100 years...”
So what caused the one 100 years ago?

Since the canal is fed from the two oceans it links together, how can it dry up? I am puzzled.

Exactly: If this is the worst drought in 100 years, what was the cause of the previous dry event?
I just realized how close the weather seems to be following the last century’s pattern...

They couldn’t wait to blame it on “Climate Change.” Right in the first sentence.
But I need something ‘splained. I thought “Climate Change” caused storms, floods, power outages, wildfires, sealevel rising and ingrown toenail. So how can it cause the oceans to dry up?
Besides, “Climate Change”, if it existed, would be a RESULT, rather than a cause.

The Panama canal is fed from a series of lakes, which is why it has locks to raise and lower ships. The Suez canal is 100% sea level.

First thanks for the topic post. I'm praying this hold-up is because all the ship containers are being searched. And pleading that it could be very dangerous in the future doesn't bother me. My opinion is if it saves one or two children it will be worth all the delays. If countries hadn't stopped farms and local markets to shut down people wouldn't be having to relay so much on other countries feeding them. England is a good example. EU was a big mistake.

Falling sea level= Climate change, Rising sea level= climate change.

Just another excuse to raise prices

They opened new locks on the canal to accommodate super cargo ships. Are the ones “getting stuck” the new super ships with a larger draft, or are the smaller cargo vessels also getting stuck? That could make a difference in their equation.

Because, in order to traverse the canal, you would have to get all that ocean water 85 feet above sea level.

The Pacific ocean
At the Canal
is 10 ft higher
than the Atlantic
Due to I think

Time to revive the Nicaragua Canal project.

Thanks for the information. Having a public school education is my only defense. That, and being a past victim of the Dunning-Kruger affliction.
