Remember when "safe sex" simply meant a husband and wife in a faithful marriage?
Remember when doctors and the medical establishment were concerned with overuse of antibiotics?
They are deliberately promoting promiscuity. They say calling sexually transmitted disease, disease, is a way to marginalize those who transmit the "infection".
It is all part of the push by the left to not have any responsibility for anything.
Why not return to the old name VD, venereal disease.

Whenever there’s a change like that, it’s because the old name came to have some associations the powers that be don’t like. Every knew that a person with “STDs” was loose, low standards, risky lifestyle, etc. So to just say the phrase was to pass judgement on the person.
So they change the name and think they can remove that judgement. It won’t work. It never does, but they’ll keep playing this word game any way.
“STI, STD? What is the difference? Why the new name? More stupid change for the sake of change.”
They have to soften the language because VD sounds too judgey and threatening. STI/STD don’t make the patient feel bad about getting the clap or whatever.
It’s all about the Feeellz’s don’tcha know.
George Carlin did a bit concerning changing the language.
WW1...Men came down with SHELL SHOCK a very strong and threatening diagnosis. Usually requiring hospitalization for worst cases.
WW2...Men were diagnosed with Battle Fatigue a softer term that let soldiers be returned to the field sooner. Avoided the stigma of SHELL SHOCK.
Vietnam... Men were diagnosed with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder... Doesn’t sound threatening at all! Send the guys home and let’em cope.
I think I know what you are getting at. Avoiding the risky situations which spread diseases, would be an effective approach.
Or of course don’t have multiple partners
I have never, ever had an “STI,” haven’t even thought of or worried about it. It’s a cinch, and it’s absolutely FREE.

When they decided to promote perversion. The word disease seems more negative than infection. Wouldn’t want to associate perversion with disease.
When every human has a dollar sign above them.
Whatever we can do to make profits for corporations, drug companies, or governments.
Once we can no longer produce as much - they’ll kill us.
