Ahead of Wednesday’s first Republican primary debate of the year, Rep Matt Gaetz revealed that Trump surrogates would in fact be allowed to observe the debate and have access to the spin room.
Newsmax host Chris Salcedo said, "Now we’re learning Fox News, the never Trump network, won’t allow Trump surrogates to attend the debate and the spin room after the debate," adding that this was "completely unprecedented."
Gaetz clarified that "the RNC gave control over the spin room to Fox News, we were allowed to go and observe the debate but there was a little bit of confusion I can tell you now that’s all been sorted out."
"We are going to have the Trump team in full force at this debate, we are going to have access to the spin room, we’re going to be there to observe the debate and I can’t wait to be giving my hot takes on Newsmax afterward and share with you my perspective on how it went."
The first RNC debate of the election cycle will take place on Wednesday evening in Milwaukee but will be missing the consistently top-polling candidate Trump.

Lying Ryan probably figured out that only 10 people were going to watch the debate. To improve viewership changed his mind about the surrogates to improve ratings.
Of course, they should be allowed to attend, but I think the spin room is a bit much. Since Trump is not participating in the debate, has not agreed to RNC terms, he should not have that extra privilege. Especially, when he is participating in counter programming to compete with the event. End of day, Trump is getting preferential treatment from the party, probably to stave off his whining.

They allow Biden surrogates in after his speeches and announcements and Biden hasn’t done an interview with them in 2 years plus
Trump won’t be there, so it won’t make any difference for ratings. No one sticks around for the gay little spin room interviews from campaign flacks anyway.

You're asking the wrong person. I have no clue. I haven't watched Fox News since 2008, don't do any social media sites, and don't watch any news programs on any platform, not even Trump's rallies or interviews. If I'm alive next year, I'll be voting for Trump a third time, or will write his name in if they manage to keep him off the ballot. I'll check out the aftermath of the debates and the interview tomorrow on FR.
