Term limits for Governor?

How about electing a Governor that, if he/she had a brain, wouldn’t take it out and play with it?

That would be a start.

The voters are the mechanism for term limits, you idiots. Try voting with your brains instead of virtue signaling.

Seriously. These blue voters across the country, who bemoan their circumstances and can’t figure out how they got there. Imbeciles

NYS is the Democrat Holy Land. How could ANYBODY in NYS be unhappy with their elected Democrat Despot rule?

I grew up in upstate NY ages 4 - 14. My very first political memories are around age 8 of Dad and his buddies at backyard BBQs complaining about all the taxes collected upstate and sent to NYC. This was back around 1960. It’s been a long downhill slide for decades.

“Yet they voted in Hochul and will she will be reelected if she runs.”

Exactly what I was thinking.

“More than half of New York’s registered voters believe the state is headed in the wrong direction”

More than half of New York’s registered voters voted for that wrong direction.

THE problem is media, as it obfuscates political corruption and ineptitude. Consider two variants:
"New York comptroller DiNapoli: Tax revenue takes tumble"

Source: https://spectrumlocalnews.com/nys/central-ny/ny-state-of-politics/2023/07/17/comptroller-dinapoli--tax-revenue-takes-tumble-

"New York is rich, but Gov. Kathy Hochul still wants to raise your taxes"

Source: https://nypost.com/2023/02/01/new-york-is-rich-but-gov-kathy-hochul-still-wants-to-raise-your-taxes/ But only months ago....

"Hochul resists campaign to raise taxes on the wealthy"

Source: https://www.ny1.com/nyc/manhattan/politics/2022/12/16/hochul-resists-campaign-to-raise-taxes-on-the-wealthy

But....

"N.Y. state, local public authorities debt up 23% since 2017"

Source: https://www.bondbuyer.com/news/n-y-state-local-public-authorities-debt-up-23-since-2017

So rich? But revenues take a tumble? Rich but massively in debt? Revenues falling, so raise more taxes. But "New York is rich?"

All in the media. Yes but no. Up but down. Rich but poor. Orwellian, and likely with intent so to be.

40% support for Hochul is a helluva lot of really stupid and lazy people. Just a thought, when children grow up lacking a father, do they want government to be a father figure when they are adults?

How does she even get 40%.

And just wait until they start spending $20,000,000 a month for just one facility for the illegals. Number is sure to go much higher.

demanding term limits for the governor and legislators,

not a solution. Same corruption happens in shorter time.

Net result is more corruption.

what is the solution?

Over half of NY voters say that they are sick of getting hit upside the head with a hammer.

In the news, over half of NY Voters believe the solution to their problems is more government funding for hammers.

This reminds me of a quote from a really famous guy who I will not name:

“In any technologically advanced society the individual’s fate must depend on decisions that he personally cannot influence to any great extent.

A technological society cannot be broken down into small, autonomous communities, because production depends on the cooperation of very large numbers of people and machines.

Such a society must be highly organized and decisions have to be made that affect very large numbers of people. When a decision affects, say, a million people, then each of the affected individual has, on the average, only a one-millionth share in making the decision.

What usually happens in practice is that decisions are made by public officials or corporation executives, or by technical specialists, but even when the public votes on a decision the number of voters ordinarily is too large for the vote of any one individual to be significant.

Thus most individuals are unable to influence measurably the major decisions that affect their lives.

There is no conceivable way to remedy this in a technologically advanced society.

The system tries to “solve” this problem by using propaganda to make people want the decisions that have been made for them...”

New Yorkers need to see that coddling and subsidizing deadbeats, criminals and illegal immigrants is the cause of their problems, and that’s happening because of their liberal leadership and that happened because they voted them into office.

A friend works in a Macy’s store selling suits. He recently saw (a) someone in the shopping area in their underpants because they didn’t see a reason for using a dressing room to try on slacks, and (b) two people having sex in a dressing room.

What the NY voters are saying is that they want Democrat politicians in charge and Democrat policies in place, but they want the results to be different.

Term Limits aren’t good enough. Every ballot has to include “None of the Above” and if no candidate can beat “None of the Above”, they’re removed from the ballot and the election is redone.

a whopping 80% are demanding term limits for the governor and legislators

WOW, unfortunately NYS doesn't have a means for the people to get this on a ballot.
