“It’s called “Victor’s Justice.”

“So, what’s the problem with that?”

Because we fought the war NOT lower ourselves to their level.
We actually believed in the tenets of human rights, we the inheritors of the US constitution. Sure we went prefect but we were damned sure better than the ones we fought.

At Neurenberg we lowered ourselves down to the level of the Nazis and that of our “partners” in the judges seat, the Soviets who were proving at that time of being equally heinous in crushing independence movements in the Eastern Europe as ruthlessly as any Nazi and we betrayed them at Yalta.

That’s victor’s Justice.

Its like going after former slave-owners in the USA

Remember there were thousands of blacks who owned slaves. Would they be prosecuted too?

Even in my idealistic youth, I wouldn’t have believed that nonsense you just typed.

Then you would just go out and shot the BB 98 yr old man after a prefunctionary court.

Just like any other totalitarian government
I mean, why the pretense you already pronounced him guilty.

You’re becoming hysterical.

This guy was just referred to the prosecutor, no one knows if they’ll even go to trial.

When did I ever say anything about shooting this guy ?

If I had, I’d have said something like work him on the stairs at Mauthausen, or gas him in a truck.

“all the war criminals at Nuremberg had a death sentence hanging over their heads if they didn’t carry out Der Fuhrer’s orders.”

Humans have always made a distinction between senior and middle management bad actors and peon bad actors.

At a minimum most of the Nuremberg criminals could have refused promotions and survived it. Their guilt was partially that they sought to benefit from the evil system—that is why their “just following orders” defense lacked and lacks credibility.

You’re the one who defended victor’s Justice.
Your words to that were exactly:

“So, what’s the problem with that?
