This is the moment an attempted thief was chased out of a jewelry store in California after receiving a beatdown from employees he had just bear sprayed.
In the shocking footage, a shirtless man is seen running out of Meza's Jewelry Store in El Monte as workers chase him away from the shop.
Cops told local outlets the man entered the store Saturday afternoon and began shattering display cases after he sprayed the employees to pull off his theft.
The attempted robbery took a turn when the fed-up workers decided to fight back and 'engaged the suspect - hitting, punching, and kicking him out of the store.
It's the latest in a recent series of appalling robberies and attempted robberies at California stores as brazen thieves take advantage of loose theft laws in the state.
The incident happened Saturday when an unidentified suspect entered Meza's Jewelry Store in El Monte - a city located east of Los Angeles - around 2.20pm.
ABC 7 spoke with one of the store's employees who said the man was armed with a hammer when he entered the store.
The man immediately got to work and sprayed the employees and workers with bear repellant and then moved to the display cases where he began smashing.
Instead of letting the man smash-and-grab his way through the store, three employees began fighting back and took on the suspect.

When will all the anti-2A A-listers who made their millions brandishing and glorifying weapons while shooting many people on screen, recant, demand their guns be replaced with walkie-talkies (ie be given the Spielberg Wipe), and give all their ill-gotten money away to anti-violence charities?

In lieu of a gun I’d of had a bigger stick on hand. You need to be prepared for big game.
That poor Son of Africa, was sure treated badly by the employees. Since he was there attempting to earn a little (more than) spending money, maybe he should file a complaint with the EEOC for Meza’s Jewelry Store having a “Hostile & Racist Work Enviroment”. He could also file a complaint with the local athorities about the employees discriminating against him because of his skincolor and and physically attacking him.
A hate crime.
This could be worth millions if he finds the right shyster and gets, Oh say Al Sharpton involved.
Instead of grabbing for fat, all that was needed was to grab any part of his sagging pants…and down he will go.

I've got "club" that was designed to bust medieval armor helmets. I got it at a Renaissance Fair.
The striking head is steel and pointed on one side, a 4 prong hammer on the other. It weighs 2.5 lbs. and is 21.5" long. I think the handle is white ash. I even have a belt hanger for it.
You get hit with this thing and you're going down. It's a bone breaker.
