This is WWIII and neither Russia nor Ukraine will be allowed to end it.

Russia needs to smuggle in most of the integrated circuits used in its modern weapons.

Why would they need to smuggle anything when they can get it from the Chinese or Iranians? Who got it from stolen plans or plans given to them by someone wanting to harm the US. Or just reverse engineer it themselves from the equipment that Biden left behind in Afghanistan

Interesting historical note, the entirety of WWI Western Front was fought on French and Belgian soil. No allied troop set foot in Germany except for a brief French foray in 1914. Many Germans knew this and were baffled at why their Army surrendered. Hitler used this fact as support for his conspiracy theory of Germany being sold out by international Jewry.

The Russians are going to have to cross the same mine fields that ground down the Ukes. That means that they have to cross at certain safe locations. That would create a very narrow kill zone.

Russia should have had victory in a week or two. At this point, how is it a victory?

The German offensive in 1918 petered out from exhaustion and lack of supplies.

No, they were starving at home, even though they had a military breakthrough.

My take on this whole thing from the beginning is that Russia was going to win. How could they not barring utter incompetence? And we’ve not seen that.

I never expected this to be their “vietnam”. Ukraine, IMO, is virtually being obliterated from the world map and I suspect it’s on purpose.

But Ukraine is not a NATO nation. They have no business there.

I actually compare this war somewhat to the eastern front in WWII. Two bad players go at it and I really don’t care which side wins.

“Time to retire the American Empire miitary concept, and move to plan B”.

I think you mean the Military Industrial Complex dictating much of American foreign policy. You’re right.

Why would Russia need an offensive?

They don’t want to occupy Kiev and Western Ukraine where they are hated.

Ukraine is losing all of its army and equipment trying to retake Eastern Ukraine.

What is most likely is a Ukrainian overthrow of the corrupt gangsters led by Zelensky, accompanied by his abrupt, and richly-deserved demise.

Zelensky is so well known, there is no place on Earth he can hide to avoid what he has coming.

Time to retire the American Empire miitary concept, and move to plan B.

Can you explain how that is possible? The U.S. doesn't have any troops, and doesn't stand to gain any territory? The only one here that is nation building is Russia, and you are cheering for them to start wars and create an empire?

They haven't even been able to take over Ukraine, which they were supposed to do in a week or two. Freepers were saying Russia would be occupying Germany and other countries in Europe by early spring of last year?

What happened to your planned empire Reverend Wright?

Perhaps a new strategy would be for NATO troops to arrive and drive the Russians back into their homeland. NATO troops would of course include American soldiers.

You mean American Troops would include NATO soldiers….

Were you in a coma during Serbia, Afghanistan, Iraq, Libya... etc. ?

Not to mention NATO expansion.

in terms of ammo and shells, Russian production dwarfs the west. And they have plenty of petroleum and raw material to fight for ever

I like reading articles like that, Russia’s invasion is having a very positive result for NATO, standardization, increased production, and adopting a strategy of holding larger ammo/weapon stocks are all greatly important improvements that were being ignored 19 months ago.

NATO troops would of course include American soldiers.

And, more importantly, lots of untraced US dollars.
