California Democrats are threatening the visitation rights of divorced or separated parents who don’t "affirm" their gender-confused child’s identity under a last-minute change to a proposal meant to protect children from abusers.
The Democrats have put forward two bills that would change California family law to make "gender affirmation" part of a child's health, safety, and welfare, trying to pass them side-by-side. The first, which was introduced earlier this year, would allow judges to remove custody from "non-affirming" parents. The second would force custody judges deciding visitation rights to consider "a parent's affirmation of the child's gender identity or gender expression," according to language added to the bill last week that will take effect if the first proposal passes.
Neither bill defines what "affirmation" means, leaving it to judges to decide if it includes irreversible puberty blockers, cross-sex hormones, and genital surgeries. Nor does it specify what age a child should be before his or her preferred identity should be unquestioningly "affirmed."
Both bills are up for final approval by the state senate and assembly by Sept. 14. It's unclear what the final result will be, but Democrats have so far easily advanced the idea of changing family law to promote "gender affirmation" in the face of widespread public opposition.
The revamped parental visitation bill puts "non-affirming" parents in the same league as abusers—and suggests that California Democrats aren’t retreating from their attack on parents who may not agree with transitioning their minor children to a different sex or identity. The original proposal was intended only to prevent the harm or murder of children by a parent already flagged as a potential danger, introduced as a response to the 2022 murder of three girls by their father during a supervised visit in California, according to its legislative analysis.

They've owned ALL our kids (well, 99.999%) since at least the early 1900's with the modern birth certificate, where parents give up willingly/unknowingly their kids to the state by signing it, and then a few weeks later getting their branding...er, I mean Social Security number.

I doubt the parent would care in the least. Why would you want to see a kid in that situation. I think that California is actually doing the parents wishes.
I thought they already had. Divorced fathers already have practically no rights over their kids.
To try and talk sense to them. To try to save them from making the tragic mistake of surgery.
Better yet, let Commiefornia secede from the country.
I doubt the parent would care. Can you imagine how screwed up the kid will be. He’ll cost a fortune in psychiatric session. If the kid is that far gone, I think it’s hopeless. Yes I have four and thank God they turned out normal including three boys which I have seen in some families at least one ends up screwed up in their sexual thinking. My wife and I dodged that bullet thankfully.

But parents who might suspect their child is confused about what sex he or she is would be wise to leave the reach of California politics.
I have had a few customers over the years that as soon as their kids in school on the westside of Los Angeles began spouting off stupid crap about how special they were and their rights and so on, The Father took them home to live for 5 years in Saudi Arabia and the problem magically disappeared.
Happened in Texas. Child support AND pay mutilation medical bills.

A Texas judge ruled that a boy whose mother wants to raise him as a girl will be given temporary full custody, despite protest from his father, who will receive only limited visitation rights.
Judge Mary Brown ruled against Jeffrey Younger, who made national headlines in 2019 and 2020 regarding the custody battle for his son, James, whose pediatrician mother, Dr. Anne Georgulas, claimed the boy wishes to be a girl named Luna.
A Texas judge ruled that a boy whose mother wants to raise him as a girl will be given temporary full custody, despite protest from his father, who will receive only limited visitation rights.
Judge Mary Brown ruled against Jeffrey Younger, who made national headlines in 2019 and 2020 regarding the custody battle for his son, James, whose pediatrician mother, Dr. Anne Georgulas, claimed the boy wishes to be a girl named Luna.
A court denied Jeff Younger’s appeal to order his ex-wife to move his son back to Texas from California, where Younger fears she will be able to circumvent a prior court ruling and chemically castrate the boy.
In an 8-1 ruling, the Texas Supreme Court refused to overturn a trial court order that allowed Younger’s ex-wife Anne Georgulas to move 10-year old James Younger, who is not her biological son, to California.
California recently enacted SB 107, which prevents enforcement of other states’ laws that provide penalties for medical “transgender” interventions.
