Bernalillo County District Attorney Sam Bregman made clear Saturday he will not be enforcing New Mexico Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham’s (D) 30-day ban on concealed carry.
Breitbart News reported that Grisham issued the ban on Friday and it took effect Saturday, September 8, 2023. The ban bars the carrying of handguns in public and covers both open and concealed carry. It applies to cities like Albuquerque, which is located in Bernalillo County.
Grisham’s ban applies to licensed concealed carriers.

Bregman has some sense. In reality MLG is not known as an intelligent person. She spent one term in the Congress. Two whole years and bowed out. That tells me even her own party leadership showed her the door.
Governor of New Mexico is basically like being mayor of a large city... but less. She was put into office by waves of Indians and NM minorities and women.
Good. She needs to be reprimanded in some way for making that unconstitutional edict.
Why has she not been arrested?
It's time to start making these criminals play the law-fare game from the other side of the bars.

She said that she ordered the State Police to carry out the ban. Haven’t heard back from them, yet.
It’s nice to see a district attorney doing some good for a change.
Yeah, now someone needs to sue to find out who emailed the governor from the DNC with this brilliant trial balloon.
Because the communists in New Mexico have supermajorities in both houses, protected by ignorant Indian tribes, old school NM hispanics, baby killing women, and recent waves of California libs.
Grisham is an idiot, put there as a willing rubber stamp for things the more cunning Democrat legislative passes to feather their own nest.
For what? Violating the Second Amendment? What's the penalty for that? There's no enforcement provision in it.
The only group she didn’t explicitly exempt were cartel members. But I’m sure there was a wink to that.
Yeah, the D.A. doesn’t want to risk her law license by prosecuting a crime that has no basis in law and implemented only by a clearly unconstitutional “executive order”.
She needs to be kicked out.
Sam Bregman is much better than the previous puke DA. He is realistic and knows that this “edict” is a complete dog and pony show and doesn’t want to waste his time.
Actually, she spent 3 terms (2013-2019) in Congress before her ascension to Governor (which I’m not so sure she actually won, and definitely did not in ‘22).
The day may not be far off when people start imposing their own enforcement provisions on these extra-constitutional acts.

The downfall of This Great Republic began when we abandoned the practice of tar and feathers.
I think that day remains pretty far off, but I agree that, eventually, that will be the only recourse people will have.
