This is the new BYD Seagull and with a price tag starting at just 78,000 yuan ($11,300), it is one of the most compelling new electric vehicles from China launched in quite some time.
Presented at the ongoing Shanghai Auto Show, the BYD Seagull takes the form of a compact hatchback that will be positioned below the Dolphin in the brand’s range. It is just 3,780 mm (148.8 inches) long, 1,715 mm (67.5 inches) wide, and stands 1,540 mm (60.6 inches) tall and sports quite an edgy and aggressive design that should appeal to young consumers throughout China.
The car’s front end is particularly aggressive with angular headlights, pronounced creases, and a blacked-out lower grille. It also has quite a dramatic side profile with black wheels and wheel arches, lines stretching diagonally along the doors, flush handles, and rear side windows that extend upwards towards thick C-pillars with a black accent. Found at the rear of the BYD Seagull are LED taillights and a light bar, as well as a large spoiler stretching out from the roof.

Sodium battery,
Cheap.
But … for now only in China. That said BYD is one of China’s biggest new car companies.
This has already been produced since April
You work for Chicoms?
“Edgy” is another word for “ugly”.
Nope.
But it seems China is WAY ahead of America now, while the major US auto companies are nearly all on strike, while autos in America just get more, and more, and more expensive.
Demanding an INCREASE in wages, of …
FORTY PERCENT
What a deal! Look at that cute sticker that makes it look like it has a grill.
Crash tests should be interesting.

I am not good at posting photos, maybe someone can?
It is a very fine-looking, sodium-based car, for $11,300
While our car industry is on strike, demanding a 40% raise.
Chinese "Pride Ride" vs Harley Davidson. Just kidding. The "Pride Ride" doesn't have that much metal and wouldn't hold up as well.
Yeah, you peddle Chicom narrative.
Biyadi is a joke.
They used to imitate BMW.

Now they changed to Tesla colors.
No problem.
That is not the car.
It is a new, sporty, cheap, real automobile.
YES
That is it. Thanks
You need to stream “The China Show” about Chinas disastrous EVs and how terrible they are and how ofter the batteries explode into fires that can be put out and end up burning down buildings and other vehicles. China cuts too many corners in everything they do and safety and quality is a joke.
Hmmmm… it has the right look but, unfortunately, not the right size for a true CLOWN CAR,
I agree that it is an attractive little car... Who knows how well it would hold up? And by the time it made it through all the government hoops and other challenges it is not going to be starting at $11,300.
Where do I put the clubs?
Sodium battery.
Doesn’t explode.
(Not quite as much range though)
