California Sues Oil Giants, Claiming Decades of Deception
The New York Times (via MSN.com) ^ | 16 September 2023 | David Gelles

The state of California sued several of the world's biggest oil companies on Friday, claiming their actions have caused tens of billions of dollars in damage and that they deceived the public by downplaying the risks posed by fossil fuels..."These folks had this information and lied to us...," said California Gov. Gavin Newsom. "It's shameful. It sickens you to your core."

Bingo. Government produces nothing. Dependent on the private sector for all goods and services, it is a cancer that continues to metastasize into everything, robing everyone of sustenance and freedom.

In an effort to “mitigate” any future damages, every oil company being sued should immediately STOP all Sales, Deliveries, Service... in the entire State

They should. And vehicles. The People of California are like Republican voters, they enjoy being crapped on. I know Ed Buck did.

So, just how many dinosaurs would there have to have been. Considering how much has been used, as liawatha might say, “buhzillions!”. Yeah, not buying.

Not only that but all the dinosaurs would have had to get together in several big graveyards. I mean millions upon millions of them all blithely migrating to Texas and Saudi Arabia. Lol

Exactly.
Judeo Christian Western Civilzation, which is built on a foundation of logic, reason and individual responsibility, is the single greatest obstacle to the implementation of global marxism and, hence, must be destroyed.

CA was more than happy to take their oil tax revenue for over 70 years, but now that it's starting to dwindle, now's when they decide it's time to bitch. If I owned a company in CA, I'd seriously consider moving to a more business-friendly state.

Sounds like the tobacco suits. CA is trying to destroy the fossil fuel industry and reap billions for a state that is going broke.

How many “liths” had to die along the OR/NV border to create that lithium cache?

Does California still claim that oil is made from old dinosaur bones?

Nobody who actually studied oil claimed it mostly came from dinosaur bones. Large animals probably contributed very little. It mostly came from marine organisms such as plants algae and bacteria.

The "Oil Giants" merely need to withdrawn from California consumers for about two weeks....

It is assured that California would grow "cold" for a while....

Atlas shrugs, so Chevron and the others can nap for a couple of weeks.....

Show me the proof that atmospheric CO 2 caused global climate change. Then prove that hydrocarbons burned is the main driver of the increase. I don’t think you can prove it.

This lawsuit is a BIG MISTAKE.

Oddly increased CO2 levels in the atmosphere have accounted for about a 15% increase in food production. It is plant food. Perhaps the Oil Companies should seek compensation from the state for using their plant food. Even more odd is the fact that the recent increases in CO2 are vastly the results of non man climate change. As the earth warms in its natural cycles the solubility of CO2 decreases in the warming oceans and that greatest reservoir of CO2 gives up CO2 to the atmosphere until the natural cycle reverses itself over tens of thousands of years and takes us back to a new ice age which is brutal for life on earth.

Historically speaking we are currently in a CO2 drought.

emissions from their products would dangerously warm the planet

____

If they new, they were wrong. Their products are not warming the planet, at least not “dangerously”!
