Democrats are reportedly panicking over plans by former President Donald Trump, the front-runner of the GOP presidential primary, to visit auto workers striking against General Motors (GM), Ford, and Stellantis in Detroit, Michigan.
Members of the United Auto Workers (UAW) are currently on strike against the Big Three, pushing to secure a new labor contract that includes wage increases to keep up with inflation and commitments that their jobs will not be eliminated by Biden’s Electric Vehicles (EVs) agenda.
This week, sources confirmed to Breitbart News that Trump will skip the second GOP primary debate and instead visit striking auto workers in Detroit.

No concerns as a Trump supporter.
Trump will have plenty of support among the rank & file, but plenty of enemies among the political union bosses.
These workers are bold enough to go after the EV mess.
Don’t think it will change anything.
Strike or no strike, I’d like to see Trump hijack and steal the UAW for Republicans out from under the Democrats in a great bloodless coup...Like never before!

Trump is a good President and an entertaining political figure, in an age of bad Presidents and boring political figures.
Why would anyone who depends on cars for a living not support the party of “drill baby, drill?” It’s rather financial suicide not to.
Thoughts: it isn't really a debate, a debate would not have moderators inserting themselves - they only need a time keeper for a debate.
Concerns: Given the subject matter, I'm concerned that the government is ramming EVs down our throats and that it is horrible policy.

No, not perfect. Democrats are very transparent. If they squeal, someone’s doing something right and sticking it to them.

Good move by Trump. I doubt the democrats are panicking however. They figure they have this one in the bag.
The other day here on Free Republic, there was a thread discussing this.
And some commented that we have to make a distinction between the auto workers , rank and file, and the union which represents Auto Workers.
So apparently some think we can say, that we are in solidarity with the workers , without being in solidarity with the Union which represents those workers.
I dont’ see what the democrats are so worried about.
If they can steal an election with Biden like they did in 2020 and get away with it like they did, they can do ANYTHING they want to in 2024.
Trump cannot do squat.
Trump already pulled off the largest PEACEFUL capital protest in American History, and look what the dems did with that... and see what it got him... AND the protesters...
It's brilliant but that meeting group had better be vetted 100% termite-free of UAW's grift gang...
