Southern-based family-dining chain Cracker Barrel was blasted for going “woke” by some of its biscuits-and-gravy-eating customers after posting an image of a rainbow rocking chair to celebrate Pride Month.
Aside from serving oversized portions of country staples, the chain is beloved for the Tennessee-made rocking chairs that line the porches at all Cracker Barrel trinket-filled Old Country Stores. Thus, the chain honored Pride Month in June with an Instagram photo of a rocking chair with each wood slat painted a different color of the rainbow in nod to the Pride flag.
“Everyone is always welcome at our table (and our rainbow rocker),” Cracker Barrel captioned the photo. The post immediately outraged social media users, with more than 2,000 comments in less than 23 hours.

It’s really strange how some of this catches fire (Bud Light) and some of it is totally ignored. Cracker Barrell found out a long time ago that their customer base is not a bunch of homosexuals. You’d think they would have learned their lesson.

I have all ways liked rainbows and I hate how someone having a rainbow flag or painting a rainbow is automatically deemed gay for having one.
Locally, the alternative to cracker bbl is Jimmy’s Eggs. Actually better.

Another thread on Facebook points out that the elderly are eating out less due to a weak economy, and it is affecting Cracker Barrel, among others. The Cracker Barrel clientele are not upper middle income suburbanites or hipsters in gentrified urban neighborhoods. Weak earnings performance may cause the owners of Cracker Barrel to spin it off, as Disney is trying to sell ESPN.
I've walked out of Bob Evans a few times because of the service or lack of it. Last time I stood there for a few minutes waiting for some one to seat me. Place was practically empty while staff was standing around arguing about something.
Speaking of a couch. Has anyone seen Chik-Fil-A’s commercial for their new sandwich? It advertises the sandwich, then goes to a couple on their red couch and the gayest of gays prances out with a bag of goodies for them to give to their son who surprises them back from the military.

Maybe back in the day, but their post-Covid portions are almost European in their scantiness.
