Voting DAY should be voting DAY period! If I, an 87 year old American, can vote in every election since I was qualified IN PERSON then so can everyone else. The only exception is that YOu’re hospitalized .
You should be required to show your picture ID AND your registration card.

Richard Baris and Robert Barnes have been pointing out, the conventional wisdom on this is very likely wrong. The Democrats are largely maxed out on registering those likely to vote Democrat. There are a TON of people in the working and middle class who are likely Trump voters who don’t regularly vote. Somebody was pointing out for example, that everybody would be shocked to learn the number of people in Wisconsin who get hunting tags every year who don’t vote. Registering a whole bunch of people is likely to backfire on Democrats.
repukelicans are ALWAYS worried about “how they look”. democrats are ideologues and THEY DON’T CARE! Democrats, however wrong they are, have the balls that repukelicans lack. it’s ALWAYS a losing strategy to not just APPEAR to be weak but to actually BE weak in contrast to the enemy. face it Mr.,Mrs, and ms. republican...people want to be on the winning side. no matter what repukelicans may believe, going along to get along is a LOSING strategy. PRESIDENT DONALD J. TRUMP is the only republican with the will to not compromise. Automatic voter registration seems intended to allow illegal aliens to vote.

You notice the uppercase ANYONE (including illegal aliens and non-citizens) UNLESS the opt out. It’s an honor system and NO PENALTY for lying about eligibility.
This is why the Rats love automatic voter registration. They know that criminals will take advantage and register for the Rat party. Later on, the criminal does need to bother to show up at the voting precinct, the ballot will be cast for them.
