dvertisers paid a premium for airtime during the first Republican presidential debate on Fox News, but it looks like they’ll be getting a major discount during round two on Wednesday night.
Semafor reviewed the rates the network shared with one prospective ad buyer for both the first and second GOP primary debates. For the first debate, the cost of a single 30-second spot topped $495,000.
But the same 30-second spot during Wednesday night’s contest would cost just over $200,000.
Another ad buyer did not share the rates for ads running during the first debate, but confirmed that Fox was charging $225,000 for 30-second ads during the broadcast immediately after the event, and $125,000 for 30-second spots during the broadcast before it.
Max’s view
The drop-off in debate ad rates reflects the drop-off in drama during the 2024 primary.

More and more people are seeing that now.
FOX has been spending a lot of money for the 2 debates they’ve sponsored. This last debate especially, with non-stop views of the debate site/stage and lots of talking up the debated. It’s like a constant non-stop commercial 24/7 on the station.
All for an interview process to see who ‘might’ want to stick around as a vice-president pick. It’s a non-event, and unimportant. They could have achieved more viewer time and extracted more information from the candidates, if they had been given one-on-one interviews on FOX.
FOX making a big deal out of nothing.
I’ll be watching re-runs of family-feud instead. More entertaining. ;)
Some times I use worms for da bait. Other times I use roe for da bait. 😴😴😴😴
They are promoting this thing like the first moon landing.
Corny and way over the top.
Release the hounds!
The slow death demise will happen with 2nd generation control. Many good companies had similar sickness.
Lots of their people troll here - always have.
On a bad day, I guess I could feel sorry for them, but not really. Even the “good ones” are out-of-touch, complicit urbanoids who made *themselves the news and went to work for the other side.
To watch any of them interview that POS Larry Fink - thier sponsor - is to watch a live TV ass-licking.
There’s no “good ones” left.
While the Republicans debate public policy the Democrats plot new and better ways to steal and win.
Of course it is gonna be a snoozer. Asa didn’t make the cut, or so I heard.

I won’t watch.
But shows Faux does not place much value in MeatBot viewers with low ad
rates for Newsom vs Ronnie Debate.
Die bwitches.
These Repukes are sick. Not one of them will even notice the government stealing the private Property of the leading candidate and threat against the power structure. Kind of a big deal...
I will not be watching. GO TRUMP GO
We haven’t had debates in this country in generations.
I didn't watch the first debate and don't plan to watch the second one (I hope there is a good ballgame on to watch), but if others want to watch, fine. It doesn't hurt to observe people who could be important in the future (although most of them will probably fade into obscurity like most of the also-rans of 2016). I pretty much know what I think of the non-Trump candidates already.
Die Fox, die. And when Lachlan sells it off, hopefully a true patriot can buy it on the cheap.
Who wants to watch A bunch of deep state RINOs? 🙄
Speaking of ads, does anyone know what’s up with Newsmax? They have not aired any commercials for the last several weeks – – instead, they are going with historical clips.
Since I’ve already seen each of them about 50 times now, I actually look forward to seeing commercials again!
The Snoozer Loser Debate
Wake me up the next day
