Putin should have read his notes on the low intensity war in the Donbass. He would have known that the Ukrainians were learning how to fight and they were adjusting their tactics. Not only that, but that they were receiving arms from the West.

The Ukrainian Army in 2022 was not the same army that was defending Crimea in 2014.
