Taliban, Hezbollah could join current Palestinian war on Israel: top US foreign-affairs pol

Other Mideast terror groups such as the Taliban and Hezbollah may join the current Palestinian attack on Israel, warned House Foreign Affairs Committee Chairman Michael McCaul on Sunday.

When asked about whether the war between the Palestinian terrorist group Hamas and Israel that broke out Saturday could devolve into a “full blown war,” McCaul (R-Texas) said he was worried.

“I’ve seen indications that the Taliban wants to come to liberate Jerusalem, in their words, to fight the Zionists. That’s very concerning,” McCaul told CNN’s “State of the Union.”

Host Dana Bash name-dropped both the Taliban and Lebanese terrorist group Hezbollah in her question.

Although the area controlled by the Taliban, an Islamic fundamentalist group, is mired by dire poverty and separated geographically by nations to Israel’s east such as Syria, Iraq and Iran, McCaul didn’t rule out the prospect of it getting involved. McCaul’s panel has been steadfastly focused on investigating the Taliban takeover of Afghanistan in August 2021.

Also concerning for him is Hezbollah, which is sitting on more than 100,000 rockets worth of firepower to Israel’s north in Lebanon, he said. ***

Biden is financing this campaign against Israel. We may soon see the weapons that Biden left behind in Afghanistan in action against Israel.

Despite this, the Jews in America will yet again overwhelmingly support Biden in 2024. There is no hate like self hate.

The Taliban can barely use those weapons. And they have no means yo get there.

Taliban from Afghanistan? Does anyone look at a map anymore. Also, there have been recent conflicts between Iran and the Taliban.

What caused deadly Afghan-Iran border clashes? What happens next?

I don’t think this will escalate to WWIII of Ezekiel 38-39.

WWIII and Ezekiel 38-39 are coming soon, but not yet.

Duh, the Sauds (Sunni)brokered an historic Peace deal with the Shia ( Iran)….something that has never been done in history. TheSunni and Shia slaughtered each other since 661 AD- 5 million DEAD in the Iraqi/ Iranian war.

We are in Biblical times, historic for those that have been given the eyes to see.
There is no doubt we will see Biden’s Afghanistan debacle back fire and our billions of arms left behind used against Israel.

Every time I read some of these comments from U.S. political and media figures about this fiasco in Israel, I can actually feel mental retardation setting in.

Hey — maybe the IRA and MS-13 will join the attack on Israel, too.

With military-age Middle Eastern men showing up on our Southern border, I’m pretty confidant they can find their way to Israel.

“Taliban, Hezbollah could join current Palestinian war on Israel”

This definitely would draw attention away from the Neocon Ukraine disaster, which is ‘very convenient’ for them.

--- "Biden is financing this campaign against Israel. We may soon see the weapons that Biden left behind in Afghanistan in action against Israel. Despite this, the Jews in America will yet again overwhelmingly support Biden in 2024. There is no hate like self hate."

It is wise to make delineation between Jew and Jew, as between Christian and Christian. As with many "orthodox" groups, Jew and Christian alike, the clear political stance is towards conservatism, and by a wide margin. The "progressive" groups, Jew and Christian alike, show a hardened and hardening stance to the political Left.

This suggests to me, at least, a postmodern schism oriented not on actual religious principles for the Left, but political, such that one gets full-on and full-time politics from pulpits of many denominations (as we watch schisms in each and every one of them).

For my own view, I see the "orthodox" as allied by being rooted in religious principles, and the "progressive" as opposed to their supposed brethren, in favor of sheer politics.

After all...

Hillary Clinton's “progressive vision” of religious freedom
A little more research would demonstrate this across the so-called Jewish and Christian spectrums alike.

Terrorists came from all over the world to fight the US in Iraq and Afghanistan. If they decide that Israel is the next battle to be fought, the Taliban and any other Muslim terror will find a way to get there.

Many of the Arab Countries that are supposedly friendly to the USA are nothing but a bunch of goat herders and rug merchants, they will finance a war against Israel.

Does anyone look at a map anymore.

If Genghis Khan’s armies could travel and conquer to what is now known as Israel, I’m sure the Taliban could figure it out.

Israel’s high-tech spies and $1bn Iron Dome defences failed to stop Hamas massacring civilians in ’embarrassing failure’

HAMAS launched an all-out attack on Israel despite the country’s $1 billion Iron Dome defences in what experts are calling an “embarrassing intelligence failure”. The unprecedented morning attack from the terrorist group left hundreds of Israelis and Palestinians dead in a brutal massacre. Palestine militant group Hamas launched a massacre on Israeli citizens in the early hours of Saturday morning

In response to the thousands of rockets launched into their territory, Israel declared a state of war against Palestine.

International relations professor and Chatham House Associate Fellow Yossi Mekelberg revealed to The Sun that the surprise attack from Hamas marks a “major escalation” in Israeli-Palestinian relations.

He said: “It’s unprecedented, because Hamas managed to enter towns, villages and the rest.

“The fact is Israel had a complete intelligence failure, operational failure, the fact that they’ve managed to enter the country so easily, that’s a big embarrassment and a big challenge from a security point of view.

“Hamas may have sensed weakness in Israel, and the Palestinian issue was sidelined by the international community. And within the Palestinian political system, they see a little hope of change. There is an accumulated frustration.”

Israel is known for its high technology weapons and defence systems, including drones, which revolutionised the modern battlefield. They also created futuristic robotic unmanned vehicles which patrol the border of the Gaza Strip. The high tech nation also launched its first spy satellite into space in 1988, gaining membership in the exclusive club of just eight nations with independent satellite-launching capabilities.

But the failure of Israel’s “iron-clad” defence system – which was said to be 90 per cent effective at bringing down targets – has been highlighted in the wake of the attack today. Israel’s renowned $1 billion “Iron Dome” system could not keep up with the thousands of rockets this morning from Palestine.

This evening Israeli jets launched raids on Hamas targets in Gaza City, and the terror group leader’s home was allegedly blown to bits in the Gaza strip as part of their revenge operation “Iron Swords”.

Dozens of Israeli Defence Force fighter jets also carried out strikes on 17 military compounds and four operational command centres belonging to the terrorist organisation.

Israel confirmed that civilians and soldiers are being held hostage by Hamas near the Gaza Border, Some experts have suggested the hostages could be used as human bargaining chips in exchange for prisoners kept in Israeli jails. Senior Hamas leader Saleh al-Arouri said his force had enough Israeli captives to force the release of around 5,000 Palestinian prisoners.

David Khalfa, co-director of the North Africa and Middle East Observatory at French think tank the Foundation Jean-Jaurès told France 24 that Hamas took advantage of Israel’s weakness.

Recent political upheaval in Israel – including violent riots – may have taken the intelligence agencies focus away from Gaza and more towards matters at home. Earlier this year, tens of thousands of protesters clashed with riot police outside parliament.

He said: “It is a major failure for the Israeli intelligence services. A failure that could even be described as historic and without exaggerating, could be compared to what happened in 1973. “Israel is a country that is on permanent alert, ready to go into battle at any time. It is always on its toes. “It is clear that there was a certain degree of unpreparedness, probably an error in the analysis and estimation on the part of Israeli intelligence services, but also in the preparation of Israeli special forces.”

Israel launched a large-scale revenge operation dubbed “Swords of Iron” to defend its citizens after the horror attack.

They blitzed Gaza City in with airstrikes before Hamas then retaliated with another 150 rockets.

Entire tower blocks were reduced to rubble in the bomb blitz after Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu promised “mighty vengeance”.

An important date
The early morning attack was unleashed into Israeli territory on Shemini Atzeret – a major Jewish holiday.

Mekelberg said he doesn’t believe the date is a coincidence, as October 7 marks the 50th Anniversary of the Yom Kippur War between Israel and Palestine.

He explained: “It’s a Jewish holiday today. It’s also the Sabbath, this would be the right time to do that… and Hamas probably succeeded beyond their wildest dreams.

“At the end of the day, it’s something a lot of us saw a long time coming. Without a solution to the Israeli Palestinian conflict in a way that is fair and just for everyone and provides security for everyone between the Jordan River and the Mediterranean Sea.

The living conditions for the two million people living inside of the 365 square kilometre Gaza Strip are “impossible”, Mekelberg said.

“If you look at the last 16 or 17 years in Gaza, they’ve been under blockade and siege and have been run by Hamas – understand that these conditions are conducive to one thing – violence,” he said.

“And unless the conditions on the ground change, this is what we get as a result.”
