Twenty-five years ago, novelist Toni Morrison famously labeled Bill Clinton as “the first Black president.”
The first actual Black president, Barack Obama, would come later. But Morrison’s memorable one-liner still gets laughs. It was a smart way to say that Clinton broke new ground by elevating Black leaders and policies that helped Black people.
By Morrison’s standard, President Joe Biden is our nation’s third Black president.
But Biden’s 2024 campaign is worried about getting Black voters to the polls. Last week, the Biden campaign put $25 million into a radio advertising campaign to pump up enthusiasm among Black and Latino voters with message “Joe and Kamala are getting it done for us — and that’s the facts.”

Wasn’t the whole “first black president” thing for Clinton a joke because he played the sax, smoked some weed, cheated on his wife and was being hassled by “the man” because of it? Take some negative stereotyped about blacks, see how they apply to a politician and call him black.

Der Biden made an interesting comment when he was critized for making a token gesture towards building a small portion of Trump’s border wall last week.

Just a few facts: black children are being aborted in record numbers; black student academic performance is at all time low, as the majority of black children can't read or do math at grade level; illegal immigrants are replacing unskilled black workers in the labor force--yep the party of slavery and Jim Crow is getting it done for ya!
