Portland Police Sgt.: ‘We Have a City That Is Just in Disarray’
Breitbart ^ | 10/11/2023 | IAN HANCHETT

Posted on 10/11/2023 5:56:00 AM PDT by ChicagoConservative27

During a portion of an interview with PBS aired on Tuesday’s broadcast of “NewsHour,” Portland Police Bureau Sgt. Jerry Cioeta stated that the city is “just in disarray” as it deals with crime.

“NewsHour” Correspondent Stephanie Sy asked, “Do you think that [Measure] 110 [the initiative decriminalizing possession of small amounts of drugs] increased demand?”

Cioeta answered, “I think it’s too hard to tell. Because fentanyl hit when 110 hit, when COVID was here, it was the perfect storm for a drug epidemic like we’d never seen before.”

Sy then said, “As part of Measure 110, police are directed to write tickets when they see someone using or possessing drugs. The ticket includes a phone number to get a substance use health assessment, but, in practice, most tickets are ignored, and only a few dozen people have completed the assessment.”

He’s a dumbass. 110 removed PC as a tool from police, along with all the other liberal policies I’m sure he’d also dance around rather than critique. They and other liberal/dem cities simply don’t have the stomach to return to normal policing, so the discussion from his end is both hypocritical and moot.

He should just keep his damned trap shut if he can’t grasp the reality of the situation on the ground.

Portland is lost.

"Portland Police Sgt.: ‘We Have a City That Is Just in Disarray’

Portland is a traitorous city whose elected and appointed leaders and voters have repeatedly given aid and comfort to the domestic and foreign enemies of the United States.

I wonder how many of these blue cities will have to irreparably collapse before the leftists can bring themselves to admit the failure of their Utopian schemes.

My daughter lived there two years. She was always told things like, “that never, or hardly ever happens here in Portland.” Sunshine in the winter, homeless problems, bums, crime, protests, school funding disasters - you name it. Problem was that they had to keep saying that all the time.

I was in Portland in early September. No exaggeration, I didn’t see a single cop from the time I left the airport until I returned. Tons of queers, homeless and hostile negroes. A beautiful city under the layers of all the filth thought.

My driver was a Kurd former terp from Mosul, Iraq. That made for interesting conversation to say the least.

They will never admit to anything. They simply have to be removed from power and made irrelevant.

Voting is serious business.

Not voting is serious business.

Vote for the best person for the job.

The best person for the job is the person who can get the most effective and efficient use out of every hard earned Taxpayer dollar.

I know a liberal couple that lived there and also said “that never, or hardly ever happens here in Portland.” but they recently moved to a part of Appalachia where it is actually true

You only need to look at the collapse of Jackson Mississippi or Detroit. They NEVER learn.

There was a TV show called “Portlandia”.....a very funny show and some - most people would think exaggerated or not true. Problem is that the show was SPOT ON in so very many respects.

It is the place were new-age hippies in their 30s go to retire.

It is a place where people chase rays of sunshine in the winter.

It is a place where social misfits build their tiny homes and squat in any space they can find.

It is a place where they can mismanage and waste school funds and then put another $100M on the ballot and it passes - again.

It is a place where bums, odd people like Steam Punkers, green and purple haired weirdos and other misfits all live in “harmoney?”

--- "Cioeta answered, “I think it's too hard to tell."

It's just too hard to tell. Ah, clarity. As in, "the motive is uncertain" when a Muzzie is holding a knife and a severed head. "It's too hard to tell...."

As with every "I don't want to put up with that" there comes Lefty complaints of partisan thought and of course racism and the like. But...

LOL

“Disarray” is what happens when kids at a birthday party start throwing chunks of birthday cake.

“War zone” world be a more appropriate description of the Portland situation.
