Democrat Illinois Gov. J.B. Pritzker has diverted rental assistance funding for struggling citizens and is using it to house illegal aliens.
The Illinois Rental Payment Program was set up to allocate up to $25,000 a year to individuals struggling to pay for their housing. In 2022, the Pritzker administration proudly noted that one billion dollars in state taxes had been pumped into the program to help people still struggling after the coronavirus pandemic.
When asked this month about his plans to pay for the increasing costs of housing caused by the illegal aliens pouring into the state thanks to President Joe Biden’s mounting border crisis, Pritzker said that he had been raiding the funds already allocated for other state programs meant to benefit citizens, programs including the rental assistance fund.

Looks like Pritzker is shifting gimmiestuff money from the folks who voted for their free stuff to other gimmestuff folks who were not here to vote for it. Count me as not caring so long as it came exclusively from state funds and not Fed funds. Hey, it’s the price you pay for fake virtue

It’s practically hopeless. Chicago has more votes than the rest of the State, and they always vote Democrat. I’m sooooo glad I left that State over 2 decades ago. Unfortunately, 2 of my children and 3 grandchildren are trapped there by circumstances. LORD protect them!
That sounds like a pretty rotten situation, but it also sounds like a lot of money to help with rental payments as well. Certainly, Illinois citizens should be helped first, but I also wonder if some of that money isn’t going back into Democrat pockets somewhere along the line. Just knowing that Pritzker is the governor keeps me from ever wanting to live there.
