A new alert for missing black women and children in California is receiving backlash as some critics say that it will embolden people to ignore the messages.
The so-called 'Ebony Alert,' signed into law Monday by Governor Gavin Newsom, is a completely separate notification system from the already existing Amber Alert.
Authored by state Senator Steven Bradford, many online have called the new law - which goes into effect on January 1 - a new kind of segregation.
The alert will be used for black people between the ages of 12 and 25 and notifies law enforcement and California Highway Patrol to search for the individual.
Bradford and other supporters say they hope it will provide equity to cases of missing black people by encouraging the media to report on their disappearance.
Despite the good intentions, social media users say the distinction is 'a way for authorities to decide how fast they want to respond.'

Well, I guess this could be constructively used for those African-Americans who choose to be less than law-abiding, put out an Ebony alert for them.

How pitiful. Needlessly fracture a uniform means of alerting people by creating a redundant system that will only introduce confusion, all because of woke stupidity.
I don’t think most people see what the goal is here.
They will keep statistics on how many people respond to Amber alerts vs. Ebony alerts. The latter will of course be lower for various reasons, none of which have to do with actual racism. However, the difference will be used to prove “systemic racism.”
That’s the plan.
It sounds like the leftists in California have been ignoring missing black children.
It won’t just be alerts. There will be daily missives about inclusion and diversity sent to all of us. It’s part of the programming they think will work.
