Pressure from the United States had a lot to do with it.
Hamas wanted to guarantee that Israel would hit back hard in outrage. That’s what scares me, that they’ve thought this through. Possibly they’re hoping for a worldwide uprising to takeover Europe.

Just as in America. School children don’t shoot back. Israel does not permit general gun ownership so the people are sitting ducks.
