The surprise victory in Louisiana’s open gubernatorial primary for Governor-Elect Jeff Landry (R-LA) on Saturday is an encouraging sign for Republicans heading into the 2024 elections, GOP insiders tell Breitbart News.
Landry, who is currently the Bayou State’s attorney general and had the endorsement of former President Donald Trump, won the open primary with a nearly 52 percent majority on Saturday night. In other words, he won the governorship outright without having to face another rival in a November runoff.

Here’s the link. My apologies.
I hope this is the case. However, the Democrats will just ramp up the cheating.
“Why is his victory so shocking??”
I guess because the narrative has been that a post-Dobbs backlash in favor of legal abortion has made it impossible for Republicans to win any sort of competitive race, even in conservative-leaning states like LA. Landry’s win flies in the face of that narrative.
I think the upset part was no runoff.
The last polls vs all-had him winning but only getting 38% and 40% of the vote.
I hope the rat party loses yugely in every election starting next year, but I don’t think that will happen.
IMO 2016 was the last legitimate Presidential election this country will ever see.
But it’s Louisiana.
If the election was held today, Joe Biden will lose. He looks like a second coming of Jimmy Carter. But here's what will happen. Israel is going to destroy Gaza. Not sure how but it'll be done. Maybe Hezbollah will take a beating too. The Americans will get involved. That'll allow Joe Biden pivot back to the domestic issues. That's his strategy for the second term. The election is 13 months away. Plenty time for him to recover from looking like an idiot.
You mean the republicans who locked us down, signed lank checks to big pharma and offered DACA to the dems.. pro groomer, pro homo, pro tranny republicans.
I don’t find it shocking at all. Remarkable that he bested the jungle primary yes, but not shocking. A resounding victory next year is possible, just like it was in 2022, but headlines like this I think have the danger of fostering undue confidence. We’re going have to fight like hell
Don’t count your chickens before they have crossed the road.
Depends on what happens next year. If the election was today, no way Joe Biden will win, even if he cheats. No one will vote for him because he's weak just like Jimmy Carter. But if it's about the domestic issues, then Biden will probably win. 13 months is a long time from now so anything can happen.
Our idiot House of Representatives is making us the laughingstock of the world. I doubt whether anyone will forget it by the time the election occurs next. I think we are in trouble.
HEY! I live here as a transplant from socialist massachusetts....You ever reside here? Do you have any idea hoe rich the natural resources are here? Best think before inserting foot in mouth again huh? This is a great state and far less corrupt than most, the people are polite/make eye contact and say hello...far more conservative than the states I have been in.
Apparently he found a way to neutralize the fraud. Let’s hope the rats don’t figure out how he did it.
Wake me when the Ky. governor race results come in.
After the hype and subsequent disappointment of the 2022 midterms, I get uneasy with projections like this.
The Ecomomy is a shambles.
But, but, Dems were winning all of these bye elections. Oh, one that matters?
