The past few months haven’t been easy sailing for the crew of the S.S. DeSantis, tossed around as they were by senior staff firings, a super PAC that seems to be actively hurting its candidate and the disappearance of nearly every major DeSantis megadonor. Just a few months ago, Republican media outlets feted Ron DeSantis as the future Trump-slayer. Now, the Florida governor’s team can barely keep the lights on.
Through it all, DeSantis has remained committed to the idea that if he just focuses on the issues, the voters will eventually come to their senses. But the governor’s bad habit of biting at any baited hook explains how DeSantis wound up in the headlines not for his policy ideas but for the miasma of weirdness that seems to surround his every move.
DeSantis recently sat down with entrepreneur and podcaster Patrick Bet-David for what should have been a pretty friendly interview. But this being a DeSantis media event, the wheels fell off almost immediately. DeSantis clearly wasn’t prepared when Bet-David asked him about an online conspiracy theory that claims the allegedly 5’11’’ presidential hopeful is adding a few inches to his height by concealing lifts in his cowboy boots.
The visual of the swaggering Florida governor tip-toeing around in effeminate lifts was too much for the right-wing social media universe to resist. Bet-David’s segment went viral. Professional shoemakers weighed in. Even presidential son Donald Trump Jr. got in on the fun, mocking DeSantis for his “insecurity.” The whole humiliating event solidified DeSantis’s standing as the 2024 campaign’s biggest presidential punchline.

De Santis stalled his campaign when he stopped looking ahead with a vision and a path, and instead looked in a mirror and was vain enough to believe sycophants who began to use him. To his detriment. Permanent? Perhaps.
Dan Quayle, Sarah Palin, others, would show that it’s permanent unless one is a media tool like McCain or Romney.
DeSantis was not a bad guy. But now he’s gone and shot himself in the foot (heel).
They’ve indicted Trump 4 times and noe they’re working on kicking him off ballots. I think they’ve told you but you’re not listening.

Maybe not. In a gang fight you always hit everyone around you whether you can hurt them or not. It’s called desperation and matches their situation perfectly.
They don’t care about DeSantis. His numbers are lower than Haley’s and neither one of them could get elected if they ran against no one. It’s just background noise to bother the voter. They used the same tactic at Guantanamo. And the background noise on Trump is on autopilot in the courts.
But I do find one point moronic. If the vote is legit, Trump will win before the vote count gets to the western electors. So the only way they are going to gain an advantage they can explain is that the republican vote was split. And they are destroying the chance of that happening by sabotaging the rep candidates they need to get that vote split. And even a liberal is not stupid enough to not understand they are not going to lure conservative people away from Trump by hammering him in court especially by destroying the people they need to do that as rep people vote rep the same as dems vote dem. And that’s not opinion, it’s historical fact.
