When the Dead Sea Scrolls were found it was feared that like the game “telephone” in which party goers are told to repeat something by whispering to each person in a circle, and the first message ends up humorously garbled, the ancient scriptures and fragments would probably show many mistakes in the hand written scrolls copied in modern synagogues.
