OP cited The NY Times as the source but the real source is a blog called Financial-World.org. It is not from The NY Times.

This article is not from The NY Times.

It’s from a blog called Financial World.

Good catch! It's completely dishonest sourcing, designed to deceive.

Here's from where it originates...South Africa, which is now quietly aligned, if not openly allied, with Russia!

Did you think you’d get away with faking the source of this article?

The OP intentionally faked the source as being The NY Times.

One of those links talk about the Russians sending 3 brigades towards Avdeyevka, only to limp away with barely a little more than a battalion?

Posting articles that are full of fake text don't show anything but the ignorance of the people who fall for what the article says.

The article you posted may have been written by some AI code, or by a fool in a cubicle somewhere charged with making up a page of text.

Did it ever occur to you to check if any of the statements in the article made any sense?

Avdeyevka's strategic importance is paralleled with that of Bakhmut, given its prime location along the road to Donetsk.

Moreover, its extensive road network serves as a critical gateway to southern Donbass, making it a key linchpin in the ongoing conflict's territorial control and supply lines

The H20, the only highway in the area, does not go through the city, and nobody has been driving on it for a long time.

The H20 goes from Avdiivka directly into the front lines around Donetsk. Ukraine isn't using it as a "supply line" and due to the ongoing combat situation neither is Russia.

The H20 is, and has been, in open land free fire zones for a long time. Driving a truck on it is a good way to get yourself killed.

Articles which are full of fake "facts" don't add anything to the discussion.

Of course a lot of Russians are getting themselves killed around Avdiivka, in a pointless effort typical of Russian "strategy".

What’s even worse is that he faked the source of the article by saying it was from The NY Times.

As always in wartime, take claims made by the combatants with a grain of salt, if not a salt tablet. That being said, it is clear that: (1) the Russians are losing vast amounts of material in this offensive, and (2) most of it is being lost due to Russian ineptness, not Ukrainian prowess. The Russians have a lot more material, and men, and a tradition of fighting this way, so they may muddle through in the end. But the cost is appalling.

Ukraine is still Ukraine after nearly two years of genocidal invasion by the biggest country in the world. Russia has lost its Super Power status. Forever.

The grind continues

Correct. Invading Russian Nazis continue to genocidally erase bits of Russia’s neighboring countries in the historical Nazi manner.

The corrupted little beggar is also running into opposition by his two top Generals, Sryski and Zhaluny….word out on the EU social posts ( and elsewhere) show he is getting ready to sack them.

When/if he does, will be confirmation the Ukies are done. No problem with Sryski ( he is cursed for their 90,000 man offensive losses since 4 June), but if Zhaluny is sacked, a military coup is inevitable.

I don’t think I know what any of that means. I certainly don’t know what footage of unidentified activity means.

I do know something of precision guided munitions. The CEP on all the artillery black dots in the footage suggests pretty good artillery bombardment. No way to know from whom. The sheer quantity of it suggests Russian, given western reports of how much ammo they have compared to Ukraine.

There is entirely too much focus on drones. They are not very important. The critical information comes from orbit. Drones have too many vulnerabilities in recon because jamming can be bidirectional, both for flight commands and for transmitted imagery. They are cheap and you can procure a lot of them, but the reason you do should be understood. It’s because they have such little use. You have to swarm 100s to get information through from maybe 1, and then you have to persuade yourself that 1 was accurate and valuable.

Satellite imagery, multispectral, and signal receipt is 1000s of times more valuable.

The public has seized on drones as important because they can understand them more than they can understand fourier transforms, which they cannot understand at all. And, of course, there is that delicate reality that military grade orbital recon imagery is not going to appear on Reddit.

War has changed. Satellites have changed it. People may want to measure things by old standards, but it does not matter what people want war to be. Satellites are deciding that. Not people.

The goal of all the provocation of Russia a prelude to dealing with China but Russia and China fully understand what is going on and are responding.

I guess the real war is all this sensational propaganda to sell China and Russia as failures, Iran and North Korea as losers and so on.

Humanity is divorced from reality it seeks a feel-good fantasy world where I’m OK and my enemies real or imagined are inferior to me.
