I’m thinking they might have tactical demographic reasons to not allow their regular citizens to have small arms...not sure if I agree with it, but that might be why. I sure haven’t seen anyone official claim it’s a reason, but maybe they wouldn’t like admitting it either.

Possibly they think they are "buying good will," but there have been some worrisome twists by the Biden gang so far. Are those US carriers there to intimidate the jihadists, Israel, or both? So far the Speaker has been saying the right things, but what if Tlaib's party gets control in the next election? Maybe Israel is hedging its bets.
My understanding of Israeli gun laws at the time of the slaughter is a limit of one handgun and a maximum of 50 rounds per qualified individual. Rifles had been actually confiscated from even reservists shortly before 10/7. The doomed citizens were going up against automatic assault rifles.

Cool. Everyone is a reservist in the IDF. No civilians.
That’s the problem. I think probably they should have just thrown up their hands and said, ‘hey it’s a Jewish state formed to protect Jews.’ And then only Jews get the 2nd amendment analogue. Maybe you then give big tax breaks to non Jewish citizens as a trade off.
They accept foreign military aid for their high-tech weapon systems, but it seems like allowing their populace to effectively arm themselves would be a pretty cheap way to at least have a fighting chance when people with rifles are at the door.
