With businesses locking up more and more everyday items in an attempt to combat rampant shoplifting, avid errand runners are fuming that the days of the quick trip to the store are over.

'The era of Target runs is officially over because tell me why it took me over an hour to buy a single bag of items,' Long stated in a video posted to TikTok that has already snagged 3.5 million views."

Not just Target, but drugstores like CVS and grocery stores as well.

Close the stores. If the social media clown show want to whine about the victim’s instead of the perpetrators, let the clown show do without.

They all got what they voted for.

Yesterday, I needed a battery for my new leaf blower - went to Home Depot - finally found someone to help, but he had to go get the keys, which took a while so we had to wait, returned and the battery was in another locked-up case so the clerk had to go back and get another set of keys and then take us to another aisle. Took about 45 minutes to get this all done.

Next time I see this, I'm ordering online.

I mostly hate that shoplifters are not being prosecuted (as everyone knows, you can steal up to $950/day in California and nothing will be done b/c it's a misdemeanor).

Can’t remember if it was Walgreens or CVS. But one of those retailers have removed all products from their shelves in Washington DC.

And replaced the items with PICTURES of the product. For obvious reasons.

If you want something, you then go tell someone you want to buy it.

A majority of Americans have the inability to logically identify cause and effect right now. It used to be when one party had things go down the drain on their watch, the other party would gain votes. Now, the voter seems to have an inability to see the person they continually vote for has direct negative effect on their lives. They’ll vote for the same person again. See the 2022 elections as a prime example. I expect we’ll see much of the same in 2024.

Because the police and law enforcement means nothing to someone who just takes whatever they want. They'll just walk, get a talk, and go do it again..

Try that sht in a casino and law enforcement is the person you hope the casino will call.

there is few things muslim countries have going for them, but then again justice is definitely 2 tiered there,. ie: Ill bet shoplifting is very minimal in a muslim country. if caught, you lose a hand

Yes, in San Francisco they certainly have as business after business closes due to rampant theft - and homeless all over the streets outside:

Imagine having to step over or around this in San Francisco:

Even McDonald's is closing its doors after 30 years:

While on the prowl for AAA batteries yesterday while in Walmart, I chose to forego the batteries for my local Kroger grocery where batteries are NOT locked.

I did not have the time to wait for someone to unlock the cabinet. They lost the sale.

I advise you to do the same. Stores will eventually get the message and devise a means to combat theft without alienating customers with incessant delays.

This isn’t a problem where I live. I suggest where there is the problem that the people look to places where it is not a problem and do the same thing. This really isn’t unsolvable. Americans have been lived for centuries without goods for sale being under lock and key.

Close the stores.

That's exactly what they're doing in Fagland. One half of all retailers are calling it quits.

While there is little to no crime problems at my local Walmart, Walgreens, etc. I do the bulk of my shopping on-line for the convenience factor. I go ‘to town’ (4K population) once a week; less in the winter months.

Not sure why more of these stores plagued with theft in highly-populated Socialist Democrat run areas aren’t ditching the massive overhead you have with a brick-and-mortar and going strictly to on-line. I think it will be that way in the future.

They’ll keep stores only in towns where people can behave themselves. ;)

The last two times I went in a Target the clothing was in piles on the shelves, no organization by size. Stock for other areas was on the floor with a few people trying to figure out where it might go.

Target is already off my shopping list.
