He is screwed. He won’t go to jail over this, but they will be tied up in appeals for years. This will cost him millions.
And this is a point I often make. The Constitution doesn't guarantee equal outcome on anything... except application of the law.
If anything in this nation should be socialized, it is the legal system. The current system gives great "justice" to people who can pay, and horrible justice to people who cannot.
This is not how it is supposed to work. This is inherently anti-egalitarian.
Our legal system is leftover monarchist crap from when we had a King, and the judges still act like they have the power of the crown over them.
They dress in robes, sit on a throne, wave a scepter, and demand supplicants come before them and "plead."
