Let's don't.

We have seen this movie too many times before. The defendant will be saddled with enormous legal fees even if he is fully exonerated and never charged with a crime. If he is charged, the expenses for the trial will bankrupt him even if he is acquitted.

"The process is the punishment", as others have said.

The "crime" is resisting criminal predation. Especially if the criminal is from one of the protected classes.

DA's and Police Chiefs who follow such policies must be removed from office. Defendants in such cases must be reimbursed for their legal expenses and lost wages.
