The House is under new management but is operating under business as usual as it prepares to pass a continuing resolution (CR) that once again extends spending levels and policies pushed through by then-Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) in last December’s lame duck session.
Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) is moving a laddered CR that extends current spending levels for Agriculture, Energy and Water, Military Construction-VA and Transportation-HUD spending bills through January 19 with the remaining eight bills extended through February 2.

They all decide they don’t want to push back on Biden.
Both sides think Joe’s agenda must be passed.
Anything with crazy nancys name on it needs to be burnt.
Whelp, I’d those two are for it, it means we’re going to catch a high-hard one pretty soon.
Business as usual
Nothing will change if the money keeps rolling out.
The evangullibles thought he was a great new speaker.
Btw, has the new Speaker released all the J6 video yet?
Not during the holidays!
I am glad I waited to get excited at thebrand new same ole same ole SOH.
I have to admit that Johnson had me fooled. The Deep State has many “conservatives” on their payroll. As General Flynn reported many of them go on junkets where they are filmed doing things with children.
Last time around, there was a lot of chatter — Will there be a shutdown? OMG! How long will it last? Where do they disagree? Who will bend? When does the shutdown start?
This time, as far as I can tell — no chatter. Everybody in DC knew perfectly well that Joe and the Democrats were going to get what they wanted. Shutdown was not a possibility this month.
And then they’ll say it’s the election, so they can’t do anything during that time.
FR: Never Accept the Premise of Your Opponent’s Argument
The military construction is basically the only item in the list that the states have expressly constitutionally given the unconstitutionally big federal government the specific power to tax and spend for.
"Article I, Section 8, Clause 16: To provide for organizing, arming, and disciplining, the Militia [emphases added], and for governing such Part of them as may be employed in the Service of the United States, reserving to the States respectively, the Appointment of the Officers, and the Authority of training the Militia according to the discipline prescribed by Congress;"
"Article I, Section 8, Clause 17: To exercise exclusive Legislation in all Cases whatsoever, over such District (not exceeding ten Miles square) as may, byCession of particular States, and the Acceptance of Congress, become the Seat of the Government of the United States, and to exercise like Authority over all Places purchased by the Consent of the Legislature of the State in which the Same shall be, for the Erection of Forts, Magazines, Arsenals, dock-Yards, and other needful Buildings [emphasis added];--And"
"Congress is not empowered to tax for those purposes which are within the exclusive province of the States." —Justice John Marshall, Gibbons v. Ogden, 1824.
“If the tax be not proposed for the common defence, or general welfare, but for other objects, wholly extraneous, (as for instance, for propagating Mahometanism among the Turks, or giving aids and subsidies to a foreign nation, to build palaces for its kings, or erect monuments to its heroes,) it would be wholly indefensible upon constitutional principles [emphases added].” — Justice Joseph Story, Commentaries on the Constitution 2 (1833).
Corrupt, post-17th Amendment ratification federal lawmakers are once again begging Democratic and Republican Trump-supporting patriots to primary them in 2024.
People were giddy over his talk and failed to wait and see what his actions would be.
They either got to him with something or he was hiding what he truly is.
It’s too bad we can’t make the bastards come to us to ask for their “funding”.
Why the obsession with the videos? We know what happened that day.
Johnson is the good guy. Go after a Dem...
At least they’ve broken it into 2 CRs.
See ya Mike!
