(AFP) – Many in the majority-Jewish Canadian town of Hampstead worried about the potential for unrest tied to the Israel-Hamas war, but residents of the small Quebec community have been startled by the scale of the outbreak of anti-Semitic incidents in recent weeks.
Lorne W., who preferred not to give his last name, told AFP he is “very, very, very much” concerned about the sudden uptick in hate directed at the province’s Jewish community, which is one of the oldest and most populous in Canada.
“Myself and my neighbors, we’re very cautious and we’re very hyperaware of what’s going on in the streets. It makes us nervous,” he said.

I went there in 2015 to the amusement park I was in as a child in 1967 during Expo 67.
The Islamic presence was very noticeable and one of the local Quebecois asked me in essence who I was?
They were worried about the outsiders I was just an American tourist returning to moments in his youth.
Now the chickens are coming home to roost in Montreal and across Canada Trudeau may be deer in the headlights at this point.

I knew that antisemitism was not entirely dead, maybe never will be, but I did think that the world would always be horrified and had learned its lessons from the sheer horror and depravity of the nazi holocaust. I never dreamed that horrifying antisemitism could ever raise its hideous head again, and in America! Honestly, I am having a hard time believing that it's true.
That said, it should come as no surprise that such evil and hate should come from the left/"progressivism"/"liberalism"/the Democrat Party (quotes because there's NOTHING progressive or liberal about this misguided movement).
The Democrat Party was and is today the party of slavery. It has championed every evil ever devised by man or the devil! It is and has always been the Party of Hate and Evil. It's degeneration into the utter depravity of virulent antisemitism should come as no surprise to anyone.
All benevolent, decent, truthful people recoil in alarm at this spectre.
I must add: I am praying now for an end to such hate and evil and for the enlightenment of all people; may they rise above it and usher in a new age of benevolence, love, peace, goodness, enlightenment, and godliness for all the people of the world. This is my prayer.
No one likes to have to defend themselves.. we'd all rather live in a peaceful world or community. But reality is rearing it's ugly head again.. Good news? Last I heard many people who are Jewish are starting to buy arms. If it's not the crazies attacking all of us - it's the criminals.
