Speaker Mike Johnson met with former President Trump on Monday night at Mar-a-Lago in Florida, a source familiar with the meeting confirmed to The Hill.
Johnson was at Trump’s estate for a fundraiser for Rep. Gus Bilirakis (R-Fla.). It marked the first time Johnson and Trump have spoken in person since Johnson became Speaker in late October.
Trump and Johnson have had a warm relationship, with the Speaker just last week saying he’s “all in” for Trump’s 2024 White House bid.

Personally, I would like to see Cocaine Mitch and Old Joe matched up in the octagon. I could compromise and have it be a team event with Corn Pop and Ronna McDaniel waiting in the wings.
That Jerk McCarthy seems to think that he will get Matt Gaetz kicked out of Congress on ethics charges.
Can some Congress person file ethics charges against McCarthy and expel him from Congress for lying to the American people and failure to do his job?

The RINO/Leftist Medienemy has made a big deal out of the fact that Johnson resorted to a short CR. The narrative being that Republicans are idiots and Johnson is doing exactly what McCarthy would have done.
That narrative is wrong. Gaetz did us a great service, and Johnson has a small “storehouse of good-will” already established by doing and saying some things McCarthy didn’t/wouldn’t/couldn’t say. I am giving Johnson significant leeway over the next few months.
His title is “President Trump”, not “former President Trump”.
There already is a fly on the wall.
