Op-Ed: Pocatello Awards Drag Queen Story Time an Award for “Human and Civil Rights,” Igniting Concerns from Parents Over Child Exposure to Gender Confusion

They tell us it’s not happening in Idaho. They also tell us it’s a good thing that it is.

Earlier this week, the City of Pocatello honored a drag queen story time group with their “Human and Civil Rights” award. They specifically lauded the group for “providing educational spaces for children.”

It’s clear that this award was given in response to recent protests by concerned parents against exposing children to drag events and the gender confusion they promote. It’s no exaggeration to say that there are people out there who really are after your kids, and they will call anyone who stands up to them “bigoted” and “hateful.”

Drag story time for children is not just innocent fun. Drag queens are often highly sexualized and they deliberately blur the line between male and female. These events push a radical leftist ideology to confuse young children about their gender. It’s one thing for adults to choose to enjoy this type of activity, but another to push it onto innocent children.

The Idaho Republican Platform is explicit in its support of children and families. Children are the future, more precious than anything else in the world, and protecting them and their innocence is the paramount duty for all parents. Article XIV, Section 4 of the Platform states: “We strongly oppose any person, entity, or policy that attempts to confuse minors regarding their biological gender.”

Children deserve to be raised in an environment where they can safely grow and develop. Drag story times are designed to interrupt that process, to cause children to question ideas about sex and gender before they are mature enough for such subjects. They are designed to circumvent the role of parents in bringing their children up according to their values.

Republican elected officials must do their part to protect children from these overtly sexual and confusing performances. The question is not why children should be exposed to drag queens, but why adults with crossdressing fetishes are so interested in being around our children.

This is also a reminder that local elections are very important. This drag group was chosen to be honored by the Human Relations Advisory Committee, which is made up of people ultimately appointed by the mayor and city council of Pocatello. Voters need to start asking candidates for local office where they stand on sexualizing children, because it’s happening in communities all across our state and our nation.

One of the most important and most difficult duties of parents today is to protect the innocence of their children. It’s disappointing to see organizations and municipalities deliberately making this job that much harder.

The message from the Idaho Republican Party remains simple and clear: We will always oppose the sexualization and gender confusion of children.

Y’all are better than me. I would not be so accommodating to faggots who insist on access to children. Not nearly so accommodating.

Abortion, homosexual marriage, transgenderism, drag queen story hour, take your pick — it’s all demonic. This is how the enemy is breaking down America. God has already won and Jesus will return, but the enemy will work hard to take as many as possible with him before his time is up. Choose wisely.

“gender confusion” .... Stand in front of a mirror. Drop your pants. You will become unconfused very quickly.

Thanks, that’s my point. Lots of people here just IGNORE what’s going on, while the Leftists continue their advance THROUGHOUT the country.

Like many places, cities tend to be Blue and they promote this Leftist crap. Even in upstate NY in Red counties, there are pockets tat promote this garbage. Here’s a very recent story from Lake Luzerne, just outside Lake George NY.

There are two adjacent cities. I live in Chubbuck. It is immediately north of I-86. Pocatello is immediately south of I-86. Pocatello elects Democrats to their city council. It's a blue collar town. Railroad workers and college students who attend Idaho State University. The Democrat heavy city council is appeasing their constituency. My city, Chubbuck, is home to mostly professionals. People who work at Idaho National Labs, doctors, lawyers, real estate developers, small business owners. There is a clear economic/political divide.

The difference between today's USA and the Weimar Republic --

In the Weimar Republic, sodomy was still illegal under laws passed back in the second Reich. But Berlin and to a lesser degree Stuttgart were wide open towns. This has been glamorized by homosexual authors such as Christopher ("Cabaret") Isherwood and the Weimar Republic became an historical object lesson in degeneracy.

But sodomy wasn't openly taught in the schools at any level, wasn't promoted by major corporations, wasn't advocated by any political party, and wasn't much tolerated in the rest of Germany. In particular, it certainly wasn't openly practiced in the temporary capital at Weimar.

When the history of this age is written, the Weimar Republic will no longer be the object lesson in degeneracy.

I thought Idaho WAS a Red State. Unbelievable what’s happening here.

The leftists living around Boise are pushing their agenda at the state government level. They used a referendum to shove Medicaid down the throats of Idaho voters. The rules to put a referendum on the ballot allow a couple big cities to put the referendum on the ballot and carry enough votes to get it passed. The conservative Republicans attempted to change referendum rules to require signers to be distributed across all counties in Idaho to prevent big city liberal mobs from putting leftist issues on the ballot. Unfortunately, many that were elected as "Republicans" are actually Democrats who professed being "Republican" to get elected. RINOs.
