Someone needs to look at Proterra’s books - and see how much money they donated to democrats - and who those democrats were...

Once upon a time many cities had electric street cars getting their electricity from wires. They could bring those back

Proterra’s initial public offering in January 2021 raised nearly $650 million....

And

...in 2020 Proterra received a PPP loan of $10 million that was forgiven...

AND

...California has given Proterra at least $6 million in grants.

AND THEY STILL WENT BROKE!.........................

Years ago, the politicians of Tallahassee gleefully reported to the world that they had purchased the first all-electric battery powered bus. Tallahassee was leading the world into an all-electric, clean, sustainable future...so take that all you big city laggards. They quietly retired it as it apparently never made even one trip on its assigned route.

When people complained that the city owned bus system was always running nearly empty of passengers, they purchased all new busses with graphics over the windows so people couldn’t see in. The ridership was so low it was proposed that they simply buy some vans, and the riders could call the vans and be picked up at home. They’d save a huge amount off the operations budget. The city turned down the opportunity to do this as there’s something magical about having an efficient public transit system even if few people use it. Even the local paper, “The Tallahassee Democrat,” mentioned that not one person on the city’s administration staff used the busses.

Chassis cracks a “cosmetic problem.” LOL! Steel and aluminum don’t just spontaneously crack. Engineering failure causes cracks and they just keep propagating until it releases all the stress, usually by folding up in the middle of the road.

And yet another example of the failure of the Central Planning model for operating an efficient and responsible government.
