They should do that here. Wouldn’t the U.S> Armed Forces appreciate fit, mature, educated men over the age of 40 and even 50 who have life experience and are not preoccupied with sex, gender, race, etc?

Plus, let’s say you’re a bad guy. Do you really want to meet a broke old patriot like me who knows how to shoot, has sailed across oceans, been in plenty of hairy situations, including combat, and really has nothing to lose and no glory ahead of him except... Killing bad guys?

Is Biden going to leave us stranded?
Do we get to keep all our weapons and ammo?
Can we live tax free in Ukraine when we’re done?
What’s the pay scale?

For a while, in recent years the American Army went up to age 42 for enlistments and the Air Force and Space Force are at 39 currently.

For draftees in a country that is being invaded and overrun, it isn’t a problem, but for hiring soldiers permanently it would be an issue because their 20-30 year career would surely end in a disability pension at some point.

No, not really. Besides the ability of younger men being able to take the physical demands of fighting, the military WANTS younger people because they’re much more likely to follow orders as told. Older men are more likely to question them. Young, gullible and stupid (if that’s needed).
