Hussein had to bring in racial equity into hiring so some trained in school for air traffic controllers were passed over for untrained minorities.
Too many fired/not hired for refusing the covid jab?
Undoubtedly, IMHO, another example of the wonderful effects of diversity and government education...
Would that mandate have included the King Air?
Just think of it as affirmative action in action. Just think about gow much fun your next hospital visit will be.
What the hell is going on in Colorado? Too many Rocky Mountain Highs with the happy smoke?
Some of the airports around the DFW area have been forced to hire according to “diversity”.
Results are showing up with many near misses and pilots pissed off at ATC for idiot directions!
Also, it was on land and not “in the skies”.
Accelerating to avoid a head on takes some balls. Maybe an old “Wild Weasel”?
EXACTLY.
I hope none of your families are on these planes that are destined to kill people. Sadly, it is going to happen one day. I know highly intelligent and hardworking people who went through ATC school and ended up leaving the profession after a few weeks or months on the job from the stress.
Overpaying diversity hires, excusing mistakes and possibly giving them a pass to get the job is not going to work out.
I know full well there are good ones out there, and I am indeed glad to hear that from you.
On the other hand, one bad (or woke, affirmative action, or incompetent) traffic controller is like the small drop of sewage in a gallon of pure distilled water...especially to those entering the airspace where that person performs their job.
Vaccine mandates and diversity issues limit the competency.
I agree.
If the pilot was already signed off on taildraggers, then its not at all newsworthy.
You cannot legally fly an airplane in the US without TCADS
Yampa Valley Regional Airport is an uncontrolled airport - meaning that there is no control tower.
It's very uncommon to operate an airline plane of the size of an Airbus A320 off of an uncontrolled airport but Yampa Valley Regional Airport services Steamboat Springs ski resort.
At uncontrolled airports the flight crews are responsible for traffic management via radio calls.
Seems the Airbus crew did not properly coordinate with the incoming King Air as it appears that the King Air was making appropriate traffic calls to notify Yampa Valley Regional Airport traffic that they were incoming traffic and they identified they landing on the correct runway.
The AIrbus crew was seemingly not paying attention.
This is not rocket science - it's basic airmanship.
Watch the show “Mayday: Air Disaster” streaming free all over the place.
You will never want to fly again.
Most air plane disaster’s are caused from some form of negligence. It can be from the air plane design, improper maintenance, to the air traffic controllers. But by far the majority of them are due to pilot negligence. Even from seasoned pilots. And there is no shortage of fatal plane crashes.
But one thing that always makes me angry is when I seen horribly implemented software and control systems in the modern era that confuse the pilots or secretly take actions that the pilots are unaware of. The Boeing Mcas system was probably the worst example in Air line history. Purely criminal because it was so negligent. A 10 year old would have known better.
“I’ve seen videos of Boeing aircraft in development under test doing the exact same thing. Built to take it.”
I’ve been on several clean slate aircraft designs. They are indeed designed to take some abuse. The funnest is full scale destructive testing. Especially carbon fiber structures. It holds, until it doesn’t... Think the Titan Submarine...
Good that you’re doing that!
I was about to say the same thing.
