Leroy G. Walker Sr. (R), is a city council member in Auburn, Maine, and he wants to see limits on firearms which can “rapidly fire.”
Bangor Daily News (BDN) reported Walker’s son was killed in the October 25, 2023, Lewiston attacks in which the gunman allegedly used an AR-10 and an AR-15. An AR-10 is traditionally chambered in .308 and an AR-15 in 5.56.
Since the attack, Walker has pointed the finger at Republicans who have long opposed additional gun controls, claiming they are “prolonging what needs to be done to slow these weapons down.”

Now they can define “rapidly” as anything more than one round a minute for instance......so now they can ban ALL firearms.

Stupid is the correct word. The non-existent “assault weapon” that is being demonized is nowhere near the deadly menace it has been sold by the left as being. Any semi-automatic shotgun is FAR more lethal. It doesn’t even have to be semi-automatic...a good pump action can be worked almost as fast. Now that they have worked the bugs out, the Keltec KSG dual-tube pump is one nasty weapon.

While I completely oppose what this guy wants to do, I don’t think that most of you read even the part of the article posted here: the guy’s son died in the attack in October. If I were in Maine, I would fight his proposal, but still have some understanding of, and compassion for, what the guy is going through. Calling him an idiot, etc. may be accurate, but it certainly isn’t called for.
