The man supposed to stop Donald Trump is an unpopular 81-year-old

AMERICAN POLITICS is paralysed by a contradiction as big as the Grand Canyon. Democrats rage about how re-electing Donald Trump would doom their country’s democracy. And yet, in deciding who to put up against him in November’s election, the party looks as if it will meekly submit to the candidacy of an 81-year-old with the worst approval rating of any modern president at this stage in his term. How did it come to this?

Joe Biden’s net approval rating stands at minus 16 points. Mr Trump, leading polls in the swing states where the election will be decided, is a coin-toss away from a second presidential win. Even if you do not see Mr Trump as a potential dictator, that is an alarming prospect. A substantial share of Democrats would rather Mr Biden did not run. But instead of either challenging him or knuckling down to support his campaign, they have instead taken to muttering glassy-eyed about the mess they are in.

There are no secrets about what makes Mr Biden so unpopular. Part of it is the sustained burst of inflation that has been laid at his door. Then there is his age. Most Americans know someone in their 80s who is starting to show their years. They also know that no matter how fine that person’s character, they should not be given a four-year stint in the world’s hardest job.

Why? Because even those with brain damage know he - “Joe” is a senile, vapid, perverted, corrupt, arrogant and mean PROP.

No one planning to vote for Biden is actually planning to vote for Biden.

[THEY] are planning to vote for his handlers behind the curtain.

Biden is not supposed to stop Trump. Judges and ballot harvesting are supposed to do that job. Either that or the Chinese cyberattack that causes an emergency leading to the suspension of elections according to some.

The leftist writer is clueless. The rats keep Traitor Joe because he is a corrupt liar who does exactly what the committee tells him to do. A perfect fall guy with the full power of Presidency. The rats know it is a near impossibility to get a court to undue an election “result” so they figure they can cheat with abandon. As long as Biden can read a prompter and take direction in an earpiece he stays.

I lurk on the left sometimes and have to stifle laughter when some commenters sing Joe’s praises as such a “great president” and “smart man.” The level of detachment from reality is surreal.

World's hardest job

Brandon is a figurehead and his Presidency is not his own. He does nothing a good chunk of the time Mumbles a few speeches and stumbles his way through with plenty of aides nearby to help.

The democrats plan to lie, cheat, and steal, to keep the unpopular 81 year old in office. They will do anything possible to stop the popular Trump and keep the fascist hate-America dictator in the oval office.

It’s January. The battle has begun. Nothing they do will surprise me.

Biden will be 82 at the start of the next Presidential term. That will give him an average life expectancy of less than 7 years. So statistically he will have a slightly better than 50/50 chance of living to the end of the term. OTOH, he is an old 81 with dementia clearly setting in and Presidents tend to age quickly in office, so I would give him less than a 50/50 chance.

Ordinarily electing a President that is not likely to live out a four-year term would be ridiculous, but it is complete insanity with Kamala Harris waiting in the wings.

The Democrats think Mr. Trump being elected would bring the end of Democracy. It might bring the end of it as THEY think of Democracy, but therein lies the problem. I guess they think Democracy somehow relates to Democrats. First of all we are a Constitutional Republic, not a Democracy. Secondly,Biden has done his best in the last 3 years to divide & ruin this country & he’s done quite a job of it. I can understand why some Republicans would like to club him on the spot for things he has said about Democracy and how it relates to Donald Trump. Biden has made statements that appear to me to be outright lies. He has nearly ruined our country from about day one when he was inaugurated. I couldn’t blame anyone if someone had thrown rotten fruit at his speeches.
