10-4, as a semi retired trucker, that’s what I told my wife before we flew in the airborne cattle cars (at her insistance) to see her brother in norcal two years ago. We had cancellations both ways. She says no more airports.
I told her I could have her there in 2 days from south central TN, and see a lot of country. I still know how to get in the ‘zone’ and roll for hours and remain alert. No coffee or pills (that wear off, leaving the body more tired than if those things had not been used). No big meals either. You don’t burn a lot of calories just sitting at the wheel.
“Time to spare? Go by air!” A friend who was a private pilot used to say that.
