For a long time, people (including me) have been calling for major changes in higher education.
Now someone is doing something about it.
Hedge-fund tycoon Bill Ackman is waging war to make universities accountable.
Ackman started his campaign by demanding the resignations of University of Pennsylvania President Liz Magill, Harvard President Claudine Gay and Massachusetts Institute of Technology President Sally Kornbluth after the trio’s shambolic performance before Congress on antisemitic harassment on their campuses.
Magill and Gay are now gone, and Kornbluth is worried.
Penn’s board of trustees pushed Magill out pretty quickly.
Gay, being a diversity hire, was harder to remove, but when evidence of multiple instances of plagiarism came out, her goose was cooked.
(Ackman is calling for Harvard Corporation “senior fellow” Penny Pritzker — the equivalent of board chair — to resign for her failures in hiring Gay, given the latter’s lack of leadership qualities and questionable academic résumé.)
Kornbluth must be getting nervous, but even if she holds on, Ackman’s effort is the first time external pressure removed an Ivy League president.
(Larry Summers was forced out as Harvard president in 2006 after female faculty were unhappy with remarks he made about women’s performance in science, engineering and math, but that was internal pressure.)

Ackman is doubling down. With help from artificial-intelligence technology (and his extensive and well-paid research staff), he’s looking for plagiarism among university administrators and faculty, and odds are he’ll find quite a bit.

Kornbluth was asked by Rep. Elise Stefanik (R-N.Y.) if a call for genocide against Jewish people would constitute harassment on MIT’s campus.
Kornbluth said it would have to be targeted at individuals and pervasive, as well as require an investigation.
Executive Committee of the MIT Corporation said in their statement after the investigation was announced.
“She has done excellent work in leading our community, including in addressing antisemitism, Islamophobia, and other forms of hate, all of which we reject utterly at MIT.”
Universities have become cesspools of leftists and violation of civil rights. They are democrap party indoctrination centers, slut factories, and money laundering operations. Just go look at some like Elizabeths Warren and how much money she takes from universities. And now they are making people debt slaves, with the promise they will make it all go away if they vote for the dimocrap party. And after decades, they are rife with anti semitism and racism. No accountability whatsover.
Apparently Kornbluth did nothing to protect MIT Jewish Students from Islamist peeps attacks.
She needs to go and whoever runs MIT these daze needs to go too.

How many with “who ya know connections” got degrees from Harvard, Yale etc. and never even attended classes? Hollywood parents got their kids in. How much did they pay?? Just wondering.
Since DEI specifically violates federal civil rights laws, the federal government can turn the screws a lot tighter than that. They can not only cut off research grants, they can rule a university off limits for students’ federal financial aid.
This is related to the horrible events of October 7th but will there be deeper and meaningful change than a few scalps to gloat over in higher education?
What Bill is doing will set Universities back 65 years, which is a great thing.

MIT is a consulting branch of the federal governmnet, not an institute for education and advancement of the technological arts and sciences. The premier place for that is still California Institute of Technology which somehow seems to have remained outside the woke fray, but that might just be ignorance on my part.
The question that must be asked did the Lice Cut AA AA commit plagiarism or was the plagiarism accomplished by the Ghost who actually wrote the thesis?
