Federal Court Deals Major Blow To Biden’s ‘Energy-Efficient’ Crackdown, Rejects Ban On Trump-Era Dishwashers

In a recent development, a federal appeals court has struck down the Biden administration’s attempt to impose strict climate regulations on dishwashers. The Department of Energy (DOE) aimed to repeal a Trump-era regulation that set standards for water use in dishwashers and clothes washing machines. However, the court ruled against the administration, citing concerns over the effectiveness of the proposed measures.

The court’s decision stated that even if the DOE could consider both energy and water use in the definition of efficiency, the 2020 rules put forth by the Trump administration likely promoted greater efficiency in both categories than the proposed repeal. The court further argued that the proposed regulations might have the unintended consequence of making Americans use more energy and water, as the new appliances may not function as effectively.

The ruling has garnered mixed reactions from various stakeholders. Supporters of the decision argue that the court’s intervention will prevent unnecessary burdens on consumers and manufacturers, while also ensuring that the focus remains on creating truly energy-efficient appliances. Critics, on the other hand, have expressed disappointment, claiming that the decision undermines the Biden administration’s efforts to combat climate change and protect the environment.

The court added that highly-efficient dishwashers which use less water often force users to run multiple cycles or to manually handwash dishes, leading to higher energy and water use.

As the debate continues, the court’s decision sets a precedent for future regulations on appliances and their impact on energy and water consumption. The Biden administration is now faced with the challenge of finding alternative ways to address climate concerns while balancing the interests of consumers and manufacturers.

The 'the normal' cycle on my dishwasher takes over three hours. The "quick" cycle (which doesn't get dishes clean) is an hour.

Every time I wash dishes I remember how much I hate democrats.

I would mention “low flow” toilets, and having to flush twice every time I take a crap, but I don’t want to get me started.

Amazing how the headline somehow manages to blame the problem on Trump.

Proving that the Biden admin doesn't give a fat rat's patoot about the climate, environment or energy efficiency.

I only do dishes for one person but I wash them by hand and on average it takes about seven minutes. I like to cook real meals too.

I found that I had to buy more dishes so that I can continue to have access to dishes while the dishwasher keeps my dishes all evening. More dishes, needed, more cabinets needed.

I do similar things - like hand washing prep items like knives, cutting boards etc. A three hour was cycle is nuts.. hate democrats for it... hate Al Gore for it.

Same with flushing the toilet. Obumber, But every appliance was affected by that crap. Furnace/AC, Washer, light bulbs, Gas stoves, wood-burning fireplaces. FJB HAS 6 GAS STOVES. KAMELTOES HAS THEM TOO. And they aren’t giving them up. Chefs are paying a fee to keep theirs. The cost of a new home will go up. Need to replace it it will have smart meters in them. Use to much, they cut you off.

Obumbers have huge propane tanks buired in their backyards. 2,500 gal tanks.
